Who owns JT Racing now? They've gone completely sh*t for brains with their new website and gear.

Ok, up front, I'm an old school guy. I'm older than dirt. I admit that. I grew up wearing and admiring the JT Racing brand. So I've been following them on FB and elsewhere over the last few years. They have apparently been bought out yet again, or maybe the current owners just went ape sh*t or something?

Their new marketing 'slant' is beyond stupid in my opinion. I can not relate to anything on their new website, or within their gear line. As far as I can tell there isn't even any legit Motocross stuff. I guess they have gone full blown BMX? Hell I can't tell for sure. They still say "Motocross" in some parts of their website and marketing spill, but it makes me really sad to see such an iconic Motocross brand come to this.

I’m pretty sure they are done with moto or at least they better be with this stuff-

I was raised just off HWY 126 in Valencia during the 80's.

This is the new owner it seems:
elpbrands.com

Yup, it's time to forget about JT Racing... nothing left of the original brand. Having said that the previous owners that brought back the brand a few years ago didn't have much of a vision for the brand. The new owners have at least a vision, but it ain't pretty!

Looks like they sell a bunch of hood rat shit now.

BRILLIANT! I'll take a half-dozen for myself and a few hundred thousand more for all my friends who live in the other 49 States but, like me, all WISH we had been born, raised, and could somehow still reside in, sunny, glorious, Cali.*

*Sarcasm alert.

No.

Cats was the worst that Thor has ever done, but still still not as bad as what the OP posted.

At least Thor is still based in San Diego...

Couldn't agree more....another DITD approach to marketing to one place in the country

Can we buy this at the mall?

Back in the 80's JT was my go to gear and Fox was the back up.

JT was, in my opinion, the coolest gear from the 80s. I think if they stayed with an authentic classic look, there would be a market for it. The older gear is still cool looking today. But they tried going with the oversized logos and such, which I was not a fan of (at least with JT. I do like it with Axo and Fox, and other gear).

JT Racing is still around?

Is this a subtle reference to Wish.com, cause I get the impression JT is just selling chinese ripoffs now.

crazy part is... the whole Vintage/Retro stuff is super popular now with the fashion. 16-27 year olds i would say the age bracket is.
you go out to the clubs or bars now and a lot of people will be wearing 80/90's MX appeal and surf gear.
its just the fashion hahaha crazy at is is.. it cost more now then it did then.

I was at a bar last sunday and a girl was wearing a 95' McGrath Jersey cut into a crop top... & another girl in an old Honda of Troy Hoodie. sad times.
But people out side the moto world people have no clue hahaha

Cheap clothing ripping off a cool old brand AND cheap bikes ripping off the old SE Racing brand. I suppose if you're going to trash classics you might as well go the whole hog.

|

3/25/2021 4:07 AM

I bought their stuff a few years ago. Really liked it. I think they went out of business and someone bought their stock of leftover hoodies and unsold gear.. Now they're selling their own garbage as JT. Photo

A couple of years ago i randomly ran into the owner and his rep on a train ride from the airport in Milan. I believe owner's name was Jason, and the rep was a Kiwi legend, if I remember correctly it was Darryll King. They were on their way to a trade show. I had a good chat with them, seemed like great guys.
