First question though, who are the NON-Dark horses?

Roczen, Marvin, Eli.

Where does Anderson fall, Personally think he will be up with the fast three pushing for wins all season

So everyone after them four.

I would be surprised if anyone else but these four finished the year with wins to their name.

Though hope I am wrong Smile
Anderson isn't a dark horse, he won the last SX race they all lined up for...

Everyone but those four probably are though... Seely/Barcia/Webb on the fringe being past winners and next big thing.

wait, is this the deepest field ever? bro?
It just may be.

My pick is webb. I think hes a darkhorse because he has 0 450 wins. Anderson I would say but he has a win.

Webb is going to pull an RC in 01.

Webb. Until you win a 450 main, ure not 450 winner. So he's still a dark horse, especially given his bumpy 1st year.

Ide be stoked if either him or Bagget started winning. I used to be all anout the euros, now all i care for is parity and interesting racing. Hardly ever happens. 2011 and 1990 come to mind...

I'm not saying Webb, because I see him as a legit race winner, not a darkhorse. Baggett is my pick.
He hasn't won a damn thing on a 450, so he is NOT a legit race winner. I see him as a 2nd tier guy until he gets off the Yamaha. Too many fast guys ahead of him to be considered a legit winner yet. He is a legit rider, just not a legit winner.

Baggett or Bogle would be my picks

Someone who's won SX races and has several podiums ain't a "Dark Horse".

I'm jus' sayin'...

Agreed.

In a "dark horse" conversation I don't think riders like Barcia, Reed, Seeley and Anderson should be included.
I get where you are coming from, but in my opinion, a former 450 SX winner who couldn't get a ride and had to go privateer is a darkhorse pick. He got very lucky that Millsaps was injured or else he would be going to A1 in a sprinter van on a privateer Honda...

Wilson to finish at least in the top 5 in the standings(beating Anderson).

If Eli, Muquin, Roczen does not get hurt, are in start crashes or have mechanicals they will be on the podium in all races. That is as sure as Dungey was on the podium 99% of his career.

Spot 4-6 is a bit more open but JA21 will be number 4 most of the times and then it will be a mix.

Any darkhorse if i have to pick one, Chad Reed. He has showed he has speed to run with the top 3 if he gets along with the bike. However i dont think he has the stamina.

The other just dont have the raw speed. 0.5sec off per lap at least, most likely between 0.5 and 1sec per lap.

Lap times from Monster Energy cup, which is a quiet simple and fast track, just leaves guys like Tickle and Wilson with no chance on podium unless something happens to top 3-4 guys i mentioned.

Right on....he was just about to break through when he was injured...good dark horse pick...if he stays healthy he's a threat for sure.

I'll start. I'm suggesting two guys who I think can win a race, not just have a good night. In my eyes, a the potential to steal a win makes a real darkhorse

I think Barcia has everything he needs to come out and surprise some people. No one is really expecting to ever see 450 Supercross-race-winner Justin again. Everyone is just expecting to see the recent Justin Barcia who came into the past 2 SX seasons injured. New bike, new Factory team, he's my darkhorse pick for a moto win.

I also think Baggett is my number 2 darkhorse pick. He finally has the confidence to know he can race with and beat Tomac and that is what he's been missing. Confidence. I don't think it matters that it's SX. When he lines up on the gate next to Eli, he will do so seeing himself as an equal now.

Who's you darkhorse heading into A1?
