Yep he was a pioneer.
I remember reading some of his early stuff online... he would always sorta blog about everything.
One funny story that sorta sticks out in my mind is....when he was headed to the Washougal national I think in 97 and he got stuck in the airport on standby and never made it to the race. Smile

One of the perks (insert sarcasm here) of working for the airlines and flying standby, he had me stuck in airports across the US, but I appreciated being his assistant and being able to hit races I wouldn't have gone to ! Bercy SX was my best race with him I did. Saw the Tyson fight at 4am ? in Paris, with Michelle, TFS and RC (yep that RC) I think he was 16 then 1st time I met him, he was a funny little kid. TFS is a good dude, I thank him for his hard work in a crazy industry, and believe it or not no matter how the outcome, TFS wouldn't trade any of it good or bad !

LOL check out 50something.
Anyone remember when Hutch banned him?
I think he went on a rant of how dangerous the sport was and how he couldn't understand why anyone would want to race ect...That they were all nuts.

Check out Jeff Alessi's thread title....LOL

I got kicked off, and refunded my $30 rather quickly. They didn't like me there. 8 years ago?

Cool...my name is in one of those screen shots...albeit, slightly different. Iampkrfn...wonder what happened to him? He was the other half of the RacerX Gas Card in Minneapolis with me one year. We had a couple of Vikings vs. Packers friendly bets along the way. Last I heard he had a small action sports store in his town

Guilty.

MotoTalk was bad ass at times, there were some quality people that I wish woulda made the transition over here. I also agree that TFS changed the way we get news from the races and industry, gotta thank him for that.

Does Ludo post anywhere anymore? He hooked me up with a free Leatt from a contest on Mototalk, solid dude.

BTW.....there are some really good core mx dudes over on MT still today. I just never re-newed my membership. Kind a slow paced really.
It is no charge for past members. Your old user name and password should work.

Have to qualify this though by saying old stuff only works for members who were there after the site was changed a few years ago.

I was there. Good times.

Remember the A1 get togethers ??

TFS is a good guy (and i am still friends with Scavo !) post strobegate.

We did a promo at a national for a disadvantaged family (don't remember which one) and TFS saw me escorting this youngster and Mom/Dad through the pits.......he asked what was up....he then gave the kid a handful of swag, a high five and a quick picture next to one of the rigs.

Not to mention the fact that during the MT days he made everyone an "insider" with his scoop.

When pit bikes were happening Buydos had that section humming.

Mototalk was and is still a great place . I have met a lot of good friends through Mototalk . I have had the best bench racing through the RC v Stewart years and lost a hell of a lot of bets on the way. Vital would be nowhere without Mototalk. Thank you to all my friends that i have met throughout my time on Mototalk you have all made my love for the sport stronger. .

Someone from the forum said they met up with him at the Dallas SX one year and could not believe he was the guy behind the screen typing all that nonsense he use to spout.

With all due respect, Vital is an extension of Freshdirt and Motodrive more than an extension of MT. The lines go way back, and were counterpoints. The only remote sense of being nowhere without MT was the decision to lock certain people out of MT in 99 when it went to pay, which generated a steady burn at Freshdirt for sure.
