Who had the best Pro debut?

How was Robbie Reynard's first National? Windham's 1st was nothing to shout about and Carmichael did so so.

Who had the best Pro debut?

IIRC Bradshaw won his first pro race... the SX in Japan. Doesn't get much better than that.

It wasn't Baggett's first race, I don't believe, but his second or third, after not getting picked up by a big team after Lorretta's, he was running in the top 3, challenging for a win. I was super impressed with that. Sorta weird to remember that he didn't immediately get picked up, and when he did it was on the Rockstar Suzuki team for a bit. Then all of a sudden, he was a freak of nature.

That same race when he was up front?? Or his first race? Shows what a few solid laps can do to your memory.

I think some of the trey voters in this forum are thinking of his sx debut not his actual PRO debut where he got an 11th.

without a doubt Tomacs debut takes the cake.

Ah, gotcha. I was confused.

I was wrong on the top-3 part, it was top-4 in moto 2.

Zach Bell looked impressive last season until he went down.

Chad Reed won the first round of 125East (and the title) in 2002. I think he may have done an AMA race a few years prior to that, when he was 16 or so.

Dungey came out battling Stewart for the win. Come to think of it, that was the most aggression I think he's ridden with.

He actually did a few 250 (big bike class) races in 2002 also on a regular old YZ250 before 125E.

That was his 450 debut, but yeah that was a good race.

May not be technically a pro debut but Tortelli won his first ever sx, the 1998 season opener in L.A
the next year he rode SX also (not great results) but won the season opener MX at Glen Helen which i believe was his 1st outdoor national in the U.S

How about Marty Tripes? He won the very first supercross against Americas best and some of Europes best at the ripe old age of 16.Actually at the time the race was called the Superbowl of Moto-cross.
