I don't think he is going to kill it but i can for sure see him taking it down to the last round with RV, CP and CR. The days of domination are over and the SX series just proved that

In my opinion,Dungey needs to get a little more creative and ballsy in his passing opportunities. He needs to strike much more quickly than he showed this year when racing against the other top 5 or 6 riders. The time he takes looking for that clean pass on the 5th, 4th or 3rd place rider is keeping him from the top step on the podium.

Dungey is going to kill it come MX time.

But I have seen RV go outdoors and he is going to go beyond killing it and will destroy it. Barring injury or DNF, RV wraps it up with at least one race remaining.

he will be about where he was during SX, 2nd or 3rd pretty much every week, maybe winning one race or two.

On a 450? Nobody has seen very much of that.
On a 250? RV was awesome...... but still got beat by Townley several times.

Yeah, I think Dungey will have another no. 1 plate when it's all said and done.

Why does anyone think RV won't ride a 450 outdoors just as good or better than he did a 250f?

never said he couldn't, but you won't see Dungey drop off the lap times like Mike Alessi either, plus Dungey never worried about Mike Alessi

He's always the best rider in the last part of the race in SX. This obviously means he is the best at adapting to the track getting rough and that he's in awesome shape. That's two huge advantages in MX. He also beat RV in 08 for the last 3 overalls which was RV's last 3 lites races. He'll definitely win more this year in MX than he did in SX. Plus he's got that consistency thing going for him too. If you take this guy's #1 plate from him outdoors, you've earned it. Oh yeah by the way guys, this is only his 2nd 450 season. People forget that a lot.

AN 08 MIKE ALESSI WAS BETTER than Dungey. Who knows what happened to captain killswitch, but he was faster. RV will DESTROY Dungey

This is Villopoto's year. Nobody will touch him. Dungey might win some motos or a few overalls. But in the whole scheme of things, RV will be the man. Dungey will have to beat Reed, Canard, Windham, Alessi, and possibly James before touching RV. I've never seen someone tear up the outdoors like Villopoto.

i think it's a good possibility that Dungey is in the title fight and wins some, but I think RV has got to have the edge with the confidence SX has given him

Ok Dungey has beaten outdoors: Reed, Canard, Windham, Alessi, and James. Also RV on lites. He will be fine, plus last year was his rookie season, so he should be even better this year.

Villopoto is in a LOT better shape these days though... don't think it will come down to fitness like it may have in the past. It's gonna be good!

I think he will be there in the end as he is consistent, this consistency is a little less interesting to watch than the natural born raggers such as Villopoto, Stewart etc but it keeps him in the fight due to not losing points through over exuberance and accidents.

This said, I am doubting he will take the title.

RV or maybe CR for No 1.

I would love to see CP up there but think he will struggle with the pace over and over.

IMHO RD had better get ready to go faster early in the motos because I think RV has a lot of that RC "check-out" mentallity and now that he is fit you better not let him get away. And it sounds like CR is in full time too and he just might be a player as well!
