MX Sports, Rider, Factory, Sponsors or Race Track. Its a simple question and might surprise some. And remember I don't know what the return from investment is for anyone of these. So lets hear your thoughts and reasons.
We all talk like we know but do we really? Maybe someone will know. I know from a track side what it cost but not on return. I know by basic also from a spectator side what the cost is and the return on the investment versus other entertainment cost like concerts, amusement parks or just a short weekend trip to Vegas. But also my choices are different than yours.
What are your opinions? And thats all they are opinions.

Very interesting question. It could boil down to a bolt manufacturer. I sure dont know.

Factory riders would be the obvious guess.
Or gear company owners (people like the Fox family).

Assuming you're just talking about the MX racing series and not the overall industry? Technically motocross is an expense for sponsors and OEMs, so we can eliminate them. The riders just make purse, which is very small in comparison to their overall compensation from OEMs, sponsors, social media, riding schools, appearances, etc. So, either the promoter or the track make more. Between tracks I'm sure some run their business better than others and make more. Others may take a loss in the name of marketing and prestige, to help the business thrive the other 51 weeks of the year.

So my official answer is I don't know.

Wait, are you implying this is merely a thinly veiled inference by Mr. Info that MX Sports makes all the monies and the tracks get screwed financially? That doesn't sound like him at all.

Hard to make money as a track when you keep hosting free charity ride days.

If you know numbers than post them….
I would guess it all depends. The top riders are making boatloads(KR, Eli, Webb). The top tracks are making bank (red Bud, Millville), the top promoters are wealthy (Feld, Mxsports). The privateers, local tracks local promoters all struggle to break even

In terms of getting money for nothing, it's hard to top the FIM.

having worked in racing and professional motorsports for 20+ years, the venues usually have the sweetest deals though it has changed over the years because it costs a lot more these days to put on an event. These days I think its the Youtubers, it certainly has the widest profit margin. These days we all spend more time watching our favorite riders youtube content, then we do on Peacock or MXGP subscriptions.

There's no way I spend 5+ hours a week watching crappy YouTube videos, but I do spend that much time watching the racing on peacock and MXGP-TV.

The pro riders in mx are no different than the ufc, pro football, or even your local working girl.... they trade their bodies and future well being, for cash..... and yes, like your local working girl, they all get screwed....

speak for yourself on that one. I don’t really watch anyone’s YouTube on the regs. Racing and pods get most of my moto attention

I find it hard to believe any YouTuber is making more then luongo/FIM/ feld.

It’s always the organizer making the most.

I have won an amateur championship, raced AMA Motocross and Supercross, announced Supercross and Arenacross, been a motocross trainer, AMA promoter, worked for apparel companies and distributors and now with an OEM. I can tell you this....

The person who gets to ride a motocross bike for fun = PRICELESS

That's who makes the most!!!
