Just curious if there is a list of which states have produced winning riders in pro mx/sx?

I would guess California has the most winners but with Chase Sexton winning the first moto at Washougal, is that the first win for Illinois?

Brayton from Iowa.
Dungey and the Martin's in Minnesota

Edit: Forgot about his 2020 win but this one sticks out to me maybe because of how stacked and intense the 450 class is this year and it's right in the middle of the season with everyone still racing for the championship.

This win seemed like a long time coming and I feel like it's going to give him a much needed confidence boost.

Shout out to the Midwest riders!

Might be easier to list states that don’t have winners. Maybe be more specific, too? Any class? 125/250/Lites or 250/450?

I’ll start with a few…

Rhode Island
Alaska
Hawaii
Maine

Any race winners from Nevada? Is Marchbanks the only one from Utah? I’d say Florida and California have produced the most

Haha true. I'd say 250 and 450 class counts as a win in my book.

Texas was killing it for awhile in the 2000s and looked to have a few upcoming stars. Wharton Brothers, Lemoine, Stroup and there was a few more around that time. Can't think of their names at the moment.

Around that time, I would have expected Texas to be a Hotspot for future pro winners but that didn't seem to pan out.

So is Wisconsin. The Martin,s are almost considered Wi. Riders, along with other eastern Mn. Riders there close to the border. Millville is hilly because w Wi. Is hilly, go 25 mi west and it’s flat all the way to the Dakota,s. Chase raced in Wi., he,s considered an Illinois rider tho.

Not sure how you would classify Windham. He was originally from Louisiana and later moved to Mississippi

Michigan Mafia.

John Kitsch is arguably the fastest mini champion against a most stacked field.
125 East SX Champions Eddie Warren, Todd Dehoop and Brian Swink.
Jeff Stanton won a few AMA championships
Kieth Bowen won a few 125 nationals
John Grewe is the Vet GOAT.

Kenny Keylon was from Florida and won the 1982 St Petersburg 250 National. Thinking he was a support rider and got a works bike for a few rounds, can’t remember if he won on the stocker or works bike. Got hurt soon after and retired in the early eighties.
