Rc made more then any rider ever. Reed makes the most out of racing.

He has made more money after racing racing then most made racing, but he lost a lot in the crash.

I would think 15 championship bonus checks by themselves would put RC in serious contention. Factor in 10 years worth of salaries while pretty much being the top dog in the the sport for most of that time and you shouldn't even have to speculate on $ amounts. If he didn't spend too much trying to break into NASCAR (I would have to believe Monster covered most if not all of that "experience") and if RCH is not a drain on his pocketbook, then I think RC is in a league of his own here. JMO of course.

Up until the end if 96 McGrath only made 4500 per win because he took a top 4 bonus. I think mc made a lot of money investment wise. Stewart might take the title for biggest salary but no way he comes close to making what Rc did. So Rc did 10 titles at a million a piece and I doubt all his win bonus money started at 100k so let's say it averaged out to 75k a win times 150 wins. I know it's higher then 150 but not sure on the exact number. Plus all the heat race wins, probably in 3-5 million a year salary from suzuki, I would guess close to a million from fox, not sure on what a stars and Oakley would pay but I'm sure that went into the slush fund account lol.

You would have thought RC given the period in which he was successful coincided with unsustainably high contracts

I'm pretty sure Ron Lechien is basically the owner of Maxima. I would assume he has the most $ simply due to the success of that company.

Actually I'm not sure if that is true. I remember him saying in an interview that he had to stop because "I had a certain dollar amount in my mind of my own money that I was willing to spend to get on that track, and once it was gone I was done"... is the gist of what he said.

By far RC4 made the most. He was making a base salary of 5mil a year from Suzuki, add in a base million at least from Fox, maybe half that from Oakley, then championship and win bonuses from all of those, and he made the most. RC and James are second.

Everything here is nothing but speculation, however it does show that some have done well. That said my guess would be Travis Pastrana and the brand he has built for himself.

I did not realize Ron Lechien was the owner of Maxima though, so that is pretty nice for sure.

Pretty sure that Ward stopped Indy racing because he was having to pay to race, not because he was making money doing it........

I pretty sure this guy is in contention, John Kocinski, recently a Beverly Hills property developer. One bike was for work, the other is what he uses for fun nowadays.

I can almost guarantee Brian Deegan has made more and is worth more today than 98% of racers retired or racing

RC got the biggest checks this sport will ever see by a long ways. The economy was at a peak and people were getting paid out heavy back then but RC made the most. Good timing for sure.

You sir are incorrect. Ryan Dungey has made the biggest checks this sport has seen. Rv2 has been cut the biggest check for a a single night of racing.

Can't see Dungey over RC4... I was thinking RC4 had use of a private jet even...
