Having a friendly argument with a buddy about who made (and post retirement continues to make) the most money.
I'm ruling out all GP riders. No inside info here but while I believe Everts did well and certainly Tony is currently doing well all the riders, mags and insiders say the money is better in the States so...
It has to come down to MC vs. RC yes? RC probably had some bigger contracts but MC had a longer career. Plus post career RC is certainly making bank on his RCU and personal Monster sponsorship. Not sure if he's making anything from RCH, heck that might actually be costing him?
MC has a stake in SPY optics...not sure what that means. Kawi money... Monster sponsorship. His truck racing could be a plus or minus. I know it's expensive to do.
So. who's the biggest earner of all time?

The Shop
When you measure wealth in billions, not millions, you are doing just fine...
Of the more current group, I think MC laid the foundation for RC to really make a mint. I am sure they both did really well, but RC peaked at a time when the economy was booming so people were throwing crazy money around.
Edit: that wasn't meant to be directed at you, just wanted to quote the picture
In my mind its gotta be RC or Reed....
The customized Camaros probably cost him a small fortune if he had them built. If he had them built, he could probably sell them for half of what he spent. Happens all the time, people spend $150,000.00 - 200,000.00 on a build or restoration and it fetches $60,000.00 at auction.
Moto-related only(salaries, bonuses, sponsorship deals, basically anything related to the sport): Stewart
If we're counting everything, including but not limited to; careers after moto, investments, non-moto business ventures, etc: Reed
All speculation on my part.
Pit Row
Regardless its a fraction of Nascar drivers.
Someone else said RC would have earned 50-100 mil in his career.. and love or hate the guy - he does not seem like the type to waste a whole heap of money on bling bling.
JS7: Would have earned some great money in his time, If I recall rightly he was facing some financial troubles earlier in his career, but his Mom trained as an accountant or similar and got them back on track.
I thought someone on the forums mentioned that CR22 put all his savings into coal production in Aussie? - thats kind of turned to shit a bit now - I hope CR made it out ok. Lots of people on the forums claim chad is a "great businessman" because he uses basic things like counter offers to gain leverage in deals.. I have never seen anything from an outsider perspective that has been above and beyond.. he may be smarter at business than other pro riders, but that ain't saying much.
MC2 owns his ranch and a pretty nice McMansion + I guess gets paid for racing trucks & his Kawi mentor-ship / monster / spy etc. If I recall rightly he owns stock in spy from a deal back in the day.
TP199: Seems like a man of modest desires, not one to waste money on crap. He would earn great money off his various exploits these days / factory rides / championships in the past.
RV2: Is probably right up there next to RC in having earned the most from the sport. I can imagine him at 70 living in a normal modest house, with an armory featuring millions of dollars worth of guns.
look at it from a business someone is going to pay you to ride a motorcycle , look at what the companies make world wide in todays market there is not a lot of margin .
this isn't MX but Moto GP is a lot bigger the AMA motocross , here is something to think about .
I know a lot of Moto GP , WSBK , BSB and World Supermoto racers they don't make anywhere near what people think the top 4-6 in Moto GP make good money after that its a good salary-salary-pay , WSBK top guys on good salary-free-pay to be there , BSB is only salary -free or you pay , world supermoto 3-4 guys in the field get paid the rest paying to be there .
guy i know in Moto 3 in a top factory team , this is the first year he has been paid and he got 200k so far his father has spent 2 million buying his rides , anther guy first year it was 250,000 euro for his ride he had to pay
so put it this way ride / race your bike and enjoy it , but if you want to live in a big house and drive fancy car get a real job :-}}}
2. MC
3. RV
Screw that I want to know who squandered the most on hookers and blow?
