I've been trying to narrow it down on what helmet to get. I've been rocking my Bell moto 7 for awhile so I've been leaning towards the moto 9. Also Have been looking at the Se3 or Air helmet from TLD. I Need some suggestionsSmile

I like the Moto 9, easy to pull out the pads and clean. Feels pretty lightweight. I do like the look of the TLF helmets if I went back in time.

I've had all 3 and I prefer the Moto 9. Light, comfortable padding and well ventilated.

I really like my SE3 Carbon, it is very light and the pads are easy to unsnap and keep clean.

I have looked at the Moto9 and it is a really nice helmet too, I don't think you can go wrong with either one!

I just spent 8 days in Baja w/ my TLD SE3...

Unbelievably comfortable, even on a 10 hour day on the trail...in the heat...and the whoops...

Comfortable.

Always.

Every noggin is different. When the Bell Moto 3 came out, I bought one but it didn't fit my cranium well. I always wanted an ARAI but they don't fit the shape of my dome. Try as many helmets on as you can and find the one that fits YOUR skull the best.

Shoei VFX-R, best helmet out there! For my noggin it is by far the most comfortable out there. The THOR helmet like RV and the PC guys wear is very comfortable as well.

Just picked up a brand new SE3 from a kid in your neck of the woods for $170. Got it yesterday, and CAN NOT believe the weight. It blows my SE2 out of the water for weight. LOVE that they come with two visors, and the bag is a nice addition.

VERY impressed with the SE3 quality. Can't wait to wear it this weekend.

Edit: I hope all is well after the rip to Cabo, and got the bike fixed.

Stoked in your New-Lid-Bargain!

My carb disintegrated on day 2 in the middle of no-where (10 yr old carb that we slapped on last-minute & neglected to check it out, DOH!)...C'est l'vie! No worries, I needed to run a crashed-up Rip-Rider back to Cali for a thorough "medical-check" & that cost me the following day, too; BUT! The next-day (day 4) I got on my bike w/ a fresh carb & PERFECT jetting and began my "Live Like OX Shred-Fest"!

The Rip is more than just riding, for me. It's about seeing the smiles & miles that all my friends get to share while taking the craziest 1600-1800 mile route to Cabo.

Rocks, Silt, Whoops, Wheelies (on the beach), riding side-by-side on the most amazing two-track, railing hidden Single-track on the shore-bluffs, more Whoops, more wheelies...

It's all just simply amazing.

You need to try it.

You'd be my guest.

Say, "When".

If I can get in next year, I am down...I even have a bike I could ride. (CR500R or a CR500AF both setup for desert....)

How many days is Rip to Cabo, and what kind of budget do I need?

I purchased the SE3 last year and am very happy with it. I did have a small issue though. A minor crash caused the visor to break and also the plastic insert under the shell that your visor tilt screw threads into. Maybe this is a simple fix, but doesn't appear to be. IMO, this part should have really been thought out better.

I'm really fond of the SE3, a great helmet in my opinion.

I have had great luck with the shoei. quality helmet for sure. have also worn a bell moto 9 which I liked a lot but the visors are garbage. they break easily and the paint flys right off the things. then if you have it finding a replacement after a year or so can be tough
