Sidecarcross Bikes - be it the Big 2 Strokes, or the Big 4 Strokes. Awesome sounding things, that turn the Earth on its Axis. Absolute Grunt - I'd kill to see and hear these engines in a 'Jumbo Class' for 2 wheelers.
XR750s.
Ducatis of so many types.
Honda RC30 (and 45) V fours. V Fours in general
Crossplane R1s as mentioned.
Aprilia RV450s and 550s.
Hell, pretty much any motorcycle with a well made exhaust system.
Nearly every type of Road Race bike from the 50s through to the 70s - so many designs. So little 'muffling'.
But, besides 500s , CCM (the BSA based ones) 4 strokes. My Dad and Uncle had quite a few (and BSAs before them). My favourite ones were those with the pipe end going between the swingarm, facing the ground. They sounded fantastic whilst on the ground, but even better (well, bloody outrageous actually) when jumping. Though, blokes lining up on the starting line besides them (really) didn't like the dust storm created by the exhaust
Two-Strokes:
Ricky Carmichael's Factory RM250
Chad Reed's Factory Yamaha YZ250
Mike Brown's Pro-Circuit KX125
James Stewart's Factory Kawasaki KX125 and KX250
Four-Strokes:
Ryan Villopoto's Pro-Circuit KX250F - that thing scared little children lol
Josh Grant's Torco Honda CRF250
Jame's Stewart's 2008 Factory Kawasaki KX450
Just something about a perfectly jetted four stroke factory bike that sounds mean. Then again the sound restrictions back then were not as tight as they are now.
