4 big names moving up to the 450s this year, in your opinion who will make the greatest impression and why?

-Zach Osborne: Has won three out of the last four 250 Championships he's entered, and arguably could have won the fourth if not for his injury. Now jumping on the bike that won the 450 Supercross Championship last year.

-Aaron Plessinger: 2018 250 SX and MX champion, he will be the contender entering the class with the most momentum. At 6'2" will his tall frame be a benefit on the bigger bikes?

-Justin Hill: 2017 SX chamption but varied results this season. However, he showed some shocking speed on the 450 when he rode it in Supercross for a few races this year, battling with the top guys in the class.

-Joey Savatgy: Long time title contender in the 250 class, moving up to be the teammate of arguably the fastest guy in the class, Eli Tomac.

How will they fare and where do you expect them to finish? Will they place better than Cooper Webb, probably the most recent great talent to emerge from the 250 class, who struggled on the Yamaha but is now headed for Red Bull KTM?

I believe he's staying in 250 and doing select 450 rounds like last year. Honda 450 team is Roczen and Seely.

I think Justin Hill could be top 5 with maybe a win or two IF he can keep it together and stay out of the trees. I don’t know if he can stay consistent tho.
I feel like AP and Zacho have potential to do really well in the 450 class too, but Hill gained a little more experience this season on the big bikes

I think Zach just edges out Plessinger...Regardless the 450 class will be all that much better with fresh blood..

I think it will be really close between Osborne and Plessinger, but I voted Osborne.

Tough call, i went with Plessinger because Osbornes coming off injury and also plessingers skill set with ruts and reading a track really seems very advanced. If the tracks desteoyed that dude just finds a way thru it.

I think overall Zach does best.
However best individual race finish I think Hill can score a podium or even or even a win in SX

Depends on how quickly Zacho is up to full speed. If he's at full song early in the season, he will do the best in my opinion.

Best at a given point? Hill. Best throughout the course of the year? Im gonna say AP because im not sure how well zacho’s style will suit the 450.

I chose Zach. He has that 250 dialed in big time. However, I know, the 450 is a different animal and making the transfer is no small change. We'll see.

I don't see Zach being a top 5 rider all year...
It took him a long time to reach where he is at now on that 250 and hasn't gotten any younger.

I see Hill coming in and being the biggest threat as he showed early this year.

After Tampa i'm all aboard the Justin Hill train for Supercross. Outdoors i see AP as the biggest threat of the four, for some reason i can't see Zacho doing overly well.

Zach took his riding and career up about two levels when he joined forces with Aldon during the fall of 2016. I think he and Musquin will be pounding out laps on 450's together all off season this year. I believe that he will be 100% ready come A1.

I can't wait until January, so we can hear "most stacked field ever"...

The message posted above is most likely my opinion and shouldn't be taken as fact....

I think Zach does better overall. Aaron just concerns me with his inconsistency, especially in SX. Aaron might look great one week and get on the podium then the next week he might finish 10th. Zach on the other hand would probably finish more consistent, like 5 one week and 4 the next.

Yes, I think the Baker program is the difference here in my opinion. Who hasn't improved in the Baker program? Zacho if 100% will be the best of the bunch.

correct he has improved a huge amount! I like the dude!
But he is one of the oldest in the field and the 450 is a whole different ball game compared to the 250.

when you look at the top guys now...

- Tomac
- Anderson
- Kroc
- Barcia
- Musqin
- Seely
- Peick
- Webb
- Brayton
- Bagget

I don't see these rookies moving up.

Hill has shown he has the speed and loves that 450.
He has shown in Supercross he can run up front.

It took Webb a little while after dominating the 250 class to find his place on the 450.
I dare say it will be the same for the others.

Apparently not, looks like Deano's gonna be out of the sprinter van with his dad again.

My prediction:

I think Hill finishes on the podium, maybe gets a win, but doesn't finish the entire season. Quad god isn't going to make 17 rounds healthy.

Savatgy surprises everyone and proves himself as a solid top 10 threat. He finishes around 7th-9th in points.

Osborne struggles in SX, but aims at being healthy come Hangtown. He finishes around 10th-12th in points.

Plessinger struggles with consistency, but excels on the East coast tracks. He finishes around 10th-12th in points.

I think SweetTooth182 did a very good job of describing these guys via their ability and I agree with it all. I lean toward AP23 (7) and if Zacho can be fit, you just can’t count him out at the end of the race. Although the 450 may demand more fitness to ride with his style WFO. Savatgy I think is the sleeper here. Dude is fast and smooth and while the pole results are low I feel he will surprise most people. Will be interesting to see how it plays out!

I don’t see Zach doing well. He’s going to try some of the shady moves he’s gotten away with against all the teenagers and it won’t end well. Imagine him trying the same move on Weston he put on AC?

I'm not really an Osborne fan, but the only teenager he tussled with this year was Forkner. Savatgy was 22 or 23 in '17, AC was 21 or 22 this year, and AMart is the same age as Zach.

That said, watching the video of him from the other day makes me think it'll take a year or so for him to adapt his style to 450 Supercross. Outdoors, I don't see him having much trouble on the big bike, but his bull dog style might need some work to be successful at Supercross.

It must be now though. Read the names. No way is it not. The good thing is even with those guys moving up the 250s are still stacked and theyre getting hunter and thomas covington too. Is Covington going to race sx? Or wait all the way until the outdoors? Thatd be kind of early to jump right in to sx, but then if he doesnt thats a long time to wait for mx. Kind of a pickle. Jumping into sx early could cause injury too not being prepared then cost him mx. Buuuut waiting half a year for mx is a long time to wait. Maybe do east coast sx to give him time? I havent heard anything about him and sx.

Right, I guess I'm saying his attitude of track bully won't work with the big boys.

In 2019, I think Osborne will make the biggest impact. Long term, I think Plessinger will.
