What happened to Ivan Tedesco? I remember he missed A1 for some series race over in Germany but isn't he supposed to be in the 450 class over here now? I realize the Tedder thing never materialized but he hasn't even attempted to race his own bike. Did he retire or injure himself, or what?

From his twitter:

@yamahamark22 I tried putting together a "privateer deal". I couldn't even get free handlebars from a long time sponsor.

Thanks ga, things don't look too good given his yz and nike long sleeve.

Maybe he can hop on that Yamaha backed Two-Stroke team for the nats?

The funny thing is he isn't kidding. The worst part is he won 2 SX lites and 1 MX championships for them and they told him they would sell him bars at a discounted price.

Our industry is what have you done for me lately.

This is depressing. I really hope to see him back for the outdoors, someway, somehow.

Well, I'm torn. It does suck to see one of our greats fall from the heavens. It also sucks having to pay $60 for goggles that cost 2 bucks to make so that my heroes can wear a brand new pair every time they get on the bike and then chuck them in the crowd, If every former factory rider got free stuff the rest of their life we'd be paying even more than some of the ridiculous prices we already pay.

I've seen 3 storage bins about 3ft long, 2ft high, and 2ft wide, filled to the brim with brand new oakley goggles. It was honestly ridiculous. That is just 1 rider who was transitioning between Amateur and pro. I'd be interested to know how many pairs of goggles oakley hands out per season.

I think the bottle was almost empty a couple years ago.

Sorry, and I've always really liked Tedesco, but this sports always been out with the old in with the new.

He was riding the YZ250 two-stroke at Lake Elsinore on Friday.

No numbers on the bike, but he was wearing Shift gear with number 99 and his name on the back.

He looked to be in good shape, and was going fast (only a couple of seconds slower than Rattray and Seely). I guess they were making most of the time jumping a table to double section that Tedesco wasn't jumping.

It was great to see him riding again!

yeah and you are only as good as your last race. even it that is what got you on the injured train...

it sucks

i don't think those guys should get the royal treatment forever, but Ivan and several others were still "in it" injuries just put them out more times than not

That sounds a lot like the same strategy that got our government into a budget crisis.

I always laugh when people toss out the "our industry" thing. It's like that all over, not just in the motorcycle industry.

The 99 jersey was a Dortmund Race special, where Ivan put in THE FASTEST lap(s) before getting crashed out: welcome to Germany.

Nowadays, you ain't gettin' a DAMN Thing For free...so...he's doing it right: go get a bike and show'em what ya got.

If...if... Ivan can remind the Moto-World EXACTLY WHO-T-F he is...?

He'll be back.

If not...?

Me? If I was runnin' one of the Teams...I'd hire him as a development rider for getting the bikes dialed & THOROUGHLY TESTED & let him race the Nat's.

But, what do I know? I think he has then same capabilities as MC when it comes to getting the bikes right.

Oh, &...the teams that should do this?

RCH
Yosh-Suzuki
PC Monster Kawi-on 450s in Deano's absence while healing
MONSTER Kawi
TLD Honda

I know, I know...I'm sure someone can tell my how wrong and full of shift I am...

No worries.

I jus' know what Ivan is capable of if he really wants to win.

That's why we got him the deal for Dortmund.

Cmon, you can't be serious......hollywood film/tv industry is all cupcakes and roses, so is the music biz. I have a small biz in the construction industry, same thing, everything is great. Living in Vegas, Taxi cab unions are picketing over wages because they are sooooo freakin happy. Clearly you are blinded by the sheltered life you live in "the moto industry" how dare you bring the "rest of us" into this.......................sarcasm, ahh fuck it.
