They were doing work on the track at the same time the guys were all out on their bikes so no one was really "on it" per say because they had to keep looking out for tractors and bulldozers etc coming out of every turn.

After the whole thing got washed out on Friday night we decided to let them do a few laps during opening ceremonies, making sure they all knew that tractors would be working on the start area and to be aware and careful. It was just a few exhibition laps, and they kept it calm because they didn't have any time for practice either.

RV had a smile on his face all weekend long, it's great to see him back and enjoying being at the races. But he told me he hadn't been on a bike since March, so he wasn't going out there to pin it by any means!

Davey, what went down with the Durham's "The Viewing" Smoke show ? I was under the impression that Darryn ,RV and several others were to be all involved with that 2-stroke demonstration. Found out late that it all got changed.

Darryn was going to ride when it was on Friday evening, then race the national, but I never saw nor heard from him all weekend. The RV Cocktail Hour was canceled because of the muddy conditions, and a shortened exhibition ride was held instead on Saturday before the national.

Not really....every person on the earth knows how RV can rip a bike. He was out just running a few laps after not riding and not racing in many years. I'd be more shocked to see him rail that track like he didn't miss a step. With that said, seeing him at the race was amazing. Thats probably the happiest I've ever been RV since he was a kid. Its crazy what a burden MX/SX had become for him. Great to see none the less.

Ha.... Occasionally I'll breifly fire up a smoker in my shop just so I can work amongst the smell. It's just a beautiful thing.

I thought they said the bike was borrowed and suspension set up was way too soft which is why he decided not to destroy himself on it
