I might have jumped the gun here, added 2 + 2 and got 25 but anyone else think roger might be moving from suzuki?

In an other thread here that there was a rumor of desalle going to honda and decoster was managing the team but didnt really buy it... but now with reed tweeting about how he didnt leave suzuki for the money and everyone will see why in a few weeks has brought me round to believing something is up.

Then Reed retweeted what somebody else wrote, which was : " JonErik19: I think this week will go down as one of the best for @KTMUSA. Stoked for what's to come!"

So maybe Roger to KTM?

He turned suzuki's fortunes around (ok so RC had a little to do with it to) so KTM want him to turn theirs around as well?

makes sence. Roger is a staple in the Suzuki world. be a bummer to see him anywhere else. but at the sametime, would be cool to see Roger and Chad team up again and rebuilt a teams reputation and win some races..

you are not really jumping the gun... just making deductions... Smile

Let's go into the most hypothetical scenario:

KTM USA brings in Marvin Musquin
KTM USA signs Christophe Pourcel
KTM USA signs Roger De Coster

Would they be making a strategic mistake for future sales by relying purely on the myth of "win on Saturday sell on Monday" and not seeing the fact that they are fully branding the team "Euro".
Would they then be the French-speaking team all Yankees want to beat?

Would this team help them gain market share in a market where the majority thinks "USA, USA, USA"?

Of course this is just a simulation, in case CP377 would have made the decision to take KTM's dollars and if RDC was leaving Suzuki for the orange team.

In any case, the Austrians seem decided to spend the big dollar in the country of Uncle Sam in order to increase mx market share.

It seemed to me that Suzuki was thought about as a second rate team until RC started winning on one. RD was there YEARS before RC came on board. How long will it take RD to right another ship and how much of suzuki's success on the 450, indoors and out, is directly related to RD?

good point.

but since RC left, ONLY one rider each year on that team has been gold. the other riders were lackluster. makes ya wonder.

I agree it would probably turn out to be an unpopular team, particularly if they immediately started racking up championships. But if they are looking at the long term, would those championships not remove the stigma that you cannot win on a KTM and make them more attractive to the other riders. It would make it much easier for them to sign talent in the future.

Tony Alessi said they aren't in silly season because they have a two year deal. It would be interesting to see the Alessi's back with Decoster. Wonder if that is even a remote possibility.

Doesn't Roger work for Yoshimura since Suzuki handles nothing in-house now?

It's just my opinion, but I think KTM is the only factory that has their heart in racing motocross. I get the feeling the others just do it out of habit.

Do you really think Roger would be able to drag himself away from his golden boy RD?

I like brand loyalty. I hope Roger sticks with Suzuki and Everts comes over to run KTM.

De Coster said in a last year Moto Verte interview that he will never work with the Alessi again, especially not with Tony ...

In the past, team Honda "bought" championships, in the future it will be team KTM, trust me...

I'd like to see DeCoster retire and just enjoy the rest of his life. He's earned it.

I could see him easily in a promotional role in MX, an ambassador position for both the GP's and U.S. series'.

well, if he leaves now he is leaving on top. Once you're at the top, there is only one place to go. Just a thought.........
