They put up a press release every year to announce the bikes are coming soon. I'm starting to believe it will never happen. Hope it does though.

The 2013 Models are supposed to be different than what you see there but won't be shown until the media release.Anyone got their 700 on order yet? Smile

I hate to be a negative Nancy, but who is excited about a 25 year old "ATK Dominator motor", YZ/CR plastics and a frame that looks cobbled together? Sorry, give me a 250SX with a 300 kit.

LOL the AMA should allow the 700cc Maico to race in the 450 class LOL. Talk about poetic justice.

I agree completely TJ but the 2013's are supposed to be more than a rehash of Koestlers rehash of the 02's.We'll see.....

Hope so.

X-RACER, didn't you hear? Pourcel is racing the 700 Maico in the Monster energy Cup this year and has a nac-nac clause over the triples.

They were re-badging Hyosung street bikes most recently. Not sure how that's going.

I think the ATKannondales may still be available, and possibly the 620/700 Maico 2 stroke by special order but I don't think there's anything new on the horizon. I've owned 2 250 LQs, a 98 and a 99. Don't have them anymore.

Cool. It really looks similar the the Kostler maico as far as the chassis and engine go. Different swingarm, tank and plastic.
the pictures on there are of the old models, they will be drastically different, no other information/pics will be released until the official release of the bikes/new maico name

If maico was still making scooters and they were as far ahead of the competition as they were in the late 70s everybody would be racing them including the factory riders. Smile

A bit off topic but here goes..

All of the bigfoot shows & "sightings" suck, until I heard this recently.. Les Stroud is the real deal.

82 Arm ripping horses at your disposal with enough vibration to shake you right off the bike the moment you pin the throttle at the starting line.

Who wouldn't sign up to race one of those?

All that vibration is bound to get you a whiskey throttle sooner or later (probably sooner)...
I can't really imagine anything worse than whiskey throttling out of a bowl turn on a 700cc two stroke!

Ok... maybe I can think of one thing that's worse:

I haven't read all the comments, but you'll never see another new Maico.

Let's not lay that Gibberson synicism on too thick yet, as another website will be doing the official release on this shortly.

The question is not "if" they are getting released, and not even "when" they are getting released but rather "will it be a pile of shit with YZ fenders"

With machining capabilities like that, they should make a two-stroke motor that bolts directly in to the 4-stroke chassis, no hacking required. Y would probably be too low, regardless though.
