When will Tomac get the red plate?

It will take 6 rounds at least of Tomac beating Dungey (by 1 position) for him to take points lead. That takes us up to round 11. Given the likelihood of Tomac getting bad starts or falling over it might take until round 13 or 14 (assuming he loses the minimum points each bad round).
Sooo with the points matched up down the stretch for the last 3 rounds, who will handle the pressure best and nail down the title?
You gotta go with Dungey right?

What's more likely? Tomac gets red plate or Tomac gets 6 starts inside the top 10?

What you write here has to be every sx fan's dream season. Unfortunately I can't see it happening. It rarely does.
Agreed.
Tomac hasn't got the consistency dialed, not yet anyway. Fingers crossed he can keep putting it up on the top step, he has the speed, the talent, the fitness, he just needs everything to go his way.... which isn't often the case with SX unless your name is Ryan Dungey.

Well I read on Vitalmx that JS7 was coming back and will win out the remainder of the season, sooooo, now we have to look at a 2 point difference between 2nd and 3rd places which means it will take 9 more rounds to cover the deficit. That should put us at the last or second to last race.Tongue

If he keeps riding kamikazee, he will be sharing a room with ken. Consistency has always been his problem.

I'm putting Tomac higher than Roczen on consistency, not crashing. Of course his problem is starts but that does not matter when he is 30sec faster in a 21-22min race. Top 10 starts and he is only subject for start crashes to stop him. Top 7 starts and he got the championship, rarely incidents within top 6-7 first lap. Specially now going east Tomac will dominate.

Don't see it happening. The wheels will come off eventually, always do.

I think Eli's style and speed are going to shine on the larger stadium tracks. Dungey will most likely not have a race where he finishes worse than fifth. It's going to be hard for Tomac, but it's possible. At the end though, I'm taking the diesel!

As big of a tomac/kawasaki fan i am, i dont think tomac is going to be able to pull that off. Remember tomacs strength is rough tracks and big sweeping corners he can rail. Thats why hes won the last 2 races. Before both practices started i knew tomac was going to win just by the track layout. Going to the east coast is a different story as the tracks will be smoother and thats dungeys forte. Tomac CAN do it, i just think it will be harder. He really needs to get a training partner and grind starts throughout the week.

I don't think the tracks will be smoother on the east coast at all. It's a track for track basis. The east coast is rougher if you have to sway to one side or the other. I just want to see a fight to the finish. I'm a huge Tomac fan and it would be awesome to see him win both SX and MX this year but he's gona have to win 9 of the remaining 12 races to do it in my opinion. While also finishing second every race he doesn't win. That would be one of the most epic turn around ever. Which is unlikely considering Dungey does win here and there. Main thing I want is a happy and healthy Tomac for outdoors.

Out of 5 seasons of supercross or roughly 73 races he's been fastest 7 times, (2 less than Dungey last year) now suddenly he's the GOAT?

Hes gonna need some help. If things keep going in his direction mayve he can lean on Ryan a little harder to push the issue and cause mistakes. If not its gonna be really tough to just win out. Dungeys ability to put himself in good position over the past 3 seasons is simply incredible.

Tomac has now at least 3 settings that he know works. Daytona last year (more MX setup) and two last rounds which has been both super "moistured" dirt and really hard packed.

So i would say he got it covered for everything going forward. 5,6,8,1,1 is not a bad track record with being 3, 5, 2, 1, 7 in the starts.

Agreed! There is nothing Tomac can blame the bike for now, he's got it fixed for everything. For a Pro that is big because he hits the line knowing that what's under him works.

I really don't know if he will. Yeah he won 2 Ina row but dungey ain't getting off that box and he won't beat dungey everytime. Tomacs gonna have to get very good starts and hope for some bad luck for dung of he wants the red plate

Uh huh. When was the last time Tomac " dominated" when they went east in 450 supercross ?

I have Tomac outside the top five in my picks for the next race.
