15 years ago, cool . Different situation today, the modern 250 fourstrokes today have at least 15 more hp more compared to 07.
what is a factory yamaha or ktm putting out now?

I remember MXA testing Villopotos KX250f and reporting it put out 46hp (stock was 36)

It's really not that big of a deal imho. If any top tier racer, raced a 125, they'd make the main. But those same top tier racers get paid to win, not to tell Pulpmx to f off after finishing 21st in a regional series.

A bit over 55hp depending the dyno. Some privateers KTM’s are around 52.

Yeah, but they're not doing it, Stank is. Maybe one or two should move over for a race or two and get some of the attention.

There is a reason it's been 14ish years. No rider in their right mind who wants to not only make the main, but actually get the best overall result possible wouldn't ride a 125. 1 rider who is unable to run up front in a regional class has decided to get attention to carve a niche for himself riding 2 strokes. Good for him, but that doesn't make it some super human feat no other rider in that main couldn't achieve if they wanted to.

It depends how you define best result possible. We're talking more about Stankdog and his 125 than pretty much every other rider in 250s. Supercross is only a professional sport because it provides a promotional opportunity for companies involved and that means there's a lot of riders making a big mistake trying to 'get the best result possible' by riding 4-strokes. There will be plenty of riders on Saturday who wish they'd done the same thing.

We have a legitimate question now - just how far could someone drag a 125 up the grid? Whoever can answer that will reap the rewards.

How far up the grid? Good question. First will will need to find a rider who can finish the main to answer that question.

They’re too busy getting the attention of the Monster chicks on the podium.

So 15 years this season for a 125 to do it until Stank. Anybody know when the last 250 2t was?
