Why would they build a track in McMinnville of all places? So the guys from the prison nearby can shred some laps?

Seriously though why in the part of the country that gets rain 9/10 months of the year and who tf is having it built!?

Eh we had a fairly dry winter. If it were built with drainage in mind you could have put in some good time. Plus drriving an hour and a half to ride sucks

To be fair yeah we did have a pretty dry winter. It can definitely be done but like you mentioned there has to be great drainage and the dirt has to be able to hold water well. Looks like a good track though!

Not sure how much time they had there, but two full days for my Case 850 dozer and John Deere 120 excavator would run you right around $5000.

VMAC tracks, Vernon McKiddie built mine for $5K but I rented all the equipment and payed for diesel.

It is on 2 acres and I asked for the most physical track possible. I had no idea a MX track could be so tiring. I have a long sand whoop section and large doubles, off camber turns and speed bumps before the doubles to mess up your drive. I can ride about 20 -30 minutes seat time max then I have to jump in the pool before I spontaneously com bust.

I can ride 2 hours on the seat at Rio if that gives you a comparison. Emil helped design it. I highly recommend him. It is so nice to ride out of your garage and not have to load, unload and drive 45 minutes to deal with spodes.

With fuel and everything I am in about $10K. He also dug a really deep pond for the sand and I stocked it with Crappie so all is good. I have a Boer Goat yard crew keeping it prime for me.

The best part is not having to wait until 10 AM to ride. In SE Texas, it is about 90 degrees and 90% humidity at 10 AM. I am done riding at 7:30 AM, showered and at my desk by 8AM for work.

Now I am waiting for my Agricultural exemption to kick in so my property taxes will come down a lot.

Come on man, you're exaggerating a bit.Winters are wet, but the summers are amazing. Heck, the rain you get in the summer just keeps the track from getting dusty. Grinning

Thanks for the info! I was going to look into rental and figured it would be about $1k/day but lucked out and was able to borrow the equipment and just pay for fuel and the labor to build.

Where do you live? I just bought 11 acres in New Waverly and plan on having Vmac build a track on about 5 of the acres.
