Well, I overshot a jump and tore my Achilles. 0/10 do not recommend. Had surgery yesterday and I'm now bed ridden for 2 weeks so off to Vital I go.

PSA - move your feet up when you have a big landing, I have a bad habit of landing on the balls of my feet. This pic is from a few months ago. Ugh.

But anyway the real point of this thread is my sick new whip. Picked this bad boy up off marketplace instead of "leasing" one through my insurance. And decided to pimp it out moto style.

Here's how she came home

Added some hand guards because you never know what I'll crash into

My buddy Jbulz suggested some moto grips for added control, I just happened to have some old ODIs laying around

And of course, stickers.

Everyone that saw it at the hospital loved it Laughing

Have you looked into the Fastway extension pegs? I don't know how vulnerable your foot will be after, but these are good for preventing a reoccurrence. Speedy recovery!

Heal up and enjoy the couch time, you’ll be tired of that couch by the time it’s over, I just got off a three month layup

That's funny...I have 2 or 3 of those white ODI grips just "laying around" as well...and I didn't buy any of them. I put a pair on my concept 2 rower (two lefties). I don't know where they came from...maybe a big race sign-up...maybe I won them at Mammoth. All I know is I have a bunch of white ODI grips and I don't know where they came from. I'm guessing they did a promotional give away somewhere in the past 5-10 years.
BTW, nice ride! Imagine your inability to get around without that thing. I wish you well on your recovery...Vital definitely helps with that needed moto fix when you're laid up!

Feel better, Marko! Being that I spent the latter half of June, and all of July on one of those scooters I added a beer holder.

Mark,

This is Nick's dad, he told me about the injury. I hope your surgery went well and you are now on the way to recovery. Also thanks so much for the help you have given Nick with bike work.

Take Care

I was going to say, folding lever is a must.

A crossbar pad, too!

spec racing the ole girl? or just cruising it...
Not 100% sure yet I was right in the middle of a timing belt job on it when I got hurt. I have an 02 WRX on the other side of the garage too. I might have to go race one of those next year instead of moto if the leg isn't healed yet lol.

Give it a bit of time, Rest with your foot up as much as possible, keep the blood flowing and not pooling in your foot.
Good luck.

Sorry to hear about your injury. I had a big tear in mine in 18, 7 days a week in pool and stretch bands. No surgery on mine. You really hv to put a lot of time into pt. Very little blood flow, to your achilles. Are you riding at Cmj in that pic or Millville ?

That pic was at Meadow Valley right down the road from Millville.

I'm sooo looking forward to PT lol. I just want to get out of this bed and move. But the docs said the first few days/ weeks are really important

Meadow valley ok, similar soil to Millville or cmj in Hixton Wi. 50.00 for a annual membership and free camping. Get a gym membership that has a pool, great pt for that injury. Ultrasound helps also.

My daughter cut hers really bad and had to have surgery last year. She ripped that thing around for a good while. Unfortunately half her classes were up stairs. Hope you feel better in short time.

I snapped mine the same way, and they did not do surgery, told me it was only 90% or so torn, and it rolled up in back of my calf. most pain I have ever had in my life, was back on bike way to early and still gives me issues.

And I love the dirt at meadow, never been there until this year and, me and my son went 7-10 times in 2 1/2 months, so fun.

The surgeon I saw said theres all this new research that supports natural healing...But basically if I wanted to be 100% back to my lifestyle someday surgery was the way to go, guess I'll know in many months lol.

I have spun more laps at Meadow than I care to think about lol, prep is always good. If you liked Meadow make sure you go check out Arkansaw now, its all redone and so much fun. Kinda like Meadow on steroids.

I see you're in Cambride, I did my achilles over the big jump at Mora...Still don't know wtf I was thinking but went so long it's embarassing haha.

I stole this pic from my buddy and added my trajectory LOL.
