Odd one from Racer X trivia, which I can't find an answer for..

I was looking for pics of a 2015+ Yz with MC Chapparal graphics and come across the following pic of MC

With the no fear gear and Chapparal/ Mazda graphics it's from 1999, I just have no clue why he's rocking it.

Lamson was on MC's team that year, but I can only find pics from Summercross which had different numbers and he run #24.

All I was thinking was Lamson injured and MC wearing it for that reason, or?

This was the first year I really remember being alive for, so I have no clue!

Cheers guys!

Damn Le Cobra was fast outta the second turn!

Explains where the Pastrana supercross footage in Fox gear on wrath child etc comes from too!

Amazed Ralph was around back then.. Only remember what I called 'better days' with Art Eckman, David Bailey, with Davey Coombs track side. Guess Ralph has always been lurking on CBS.

Anyone else think it was cool to have seemingly showroom graphics on the factory bikes? I'm starting to rethink some of the builds I've done..

I for one liked the almost showroom look. Just added a few sponsors and good to go. Graphics these days are a bit wild for my taste. I like a more plain bike like it used to be.

That is awesome! The white airbox on the YZ's were 2000 model year bikes. That would have to be late 1999.

In 2004 or 2005 my folks got me an ipod video and it was when having video on a mobile device was still pretty new. One of the random videos I found was practice for this race, and I'd watch it over and over during study hall. Just because I could. Nothing beats crisp 2 strokes in study hall

I was there! I remember there were only 19 250 riders signed up so the qualifiers were just for gate pick. My brother and I talked to Pastrana and Dowd for a long while after the races. They were really cool.
