Being a product of the 80's and 90's, i always had a dirt bike and 3 wheeler. Seems like everyone had one or both. Honda has produced a lot of iconic bikes, but to me the baddest bike ever produced was the 250R.
Show picks if you have em.
I had 2 86 ATC 250R's, 86, 88, and 89 TRX 250R's.
These are the only pics i could find.
Also, please note, i bought these bikes in high school. Kids don't have that option these days.

My brother did work on his engine til it was like a top fuel dragster. He routinely beat Banshees up comp. hill.
All foopers now.
Funnest times I ever had riding. But I got hurt a few times.
Please line up with me

Maybe it’s my old memory and some nostalgia but the tracks sure seemed to shape up with better racing lines through the day when they would send the quads out for first practice to soak up the mud.
Those old ATC’s were pretty crazy!
I Remember a few gnarly crashes when they started a quad class at the races. They didn’t require a dead man teather and in both cases the twist throttle jammed against the bars and the quad ghost rode itself at speed until it hit something. One hit a wall and the other a truck which had to be towed away. Pretty wild to watch.
ESR 310 all the frills, thrills, dyno tested 38hp at 9700rpm. Its outside I my garage right now. First kick start. It's a Honda
Built 250Rs are still somewhat common on the GNCC circuit. I saw at least 10 and one LTR250 at Ironman this year. Still think a nice 250r build is still a solid race bike today.
Oh man...those 3 wheeler 250Rs bring back some painful memories. Both my brothers bought them when they first came out.
Those things were deadly.... and if you crashed you couldn't get away from them. God forbid you ever put your foot down out of habit.
I've done that!!! I was telling somebody just about that situation today when you put your foot down and you get sucked up underneath the back wheel

ESR325 or die
I broke my right leg riding a Kawi trail 250 quad at my Dad's house in El Dorado when I was pretty buzzed up. I swore I saw a rattlesnake in the grass, I instinctively threw my legs up from the pegs. I then hit a bunch of random bumps lost control and got my leg sucked under the quad. It didn't hurt to bad at first, but when I woke up the next day was some of the worst pain I ever felt. I refused to go to the doctor until I showed my boss on Monday. My right leg was twice the size of my left. It was embarrassing.
Bouncing up the lip at Shell Reef
I dislocated my left knee when I was 14 when it got sucked into the back wheel of my buddy's 200X.
You haven't really lived until you've had your leg sucked into the rear wheel of a 250R with paddle tires.
2 Buddies in Ocotillo.
Shell Reef. The "Bomb Drop" is to the left. The lip wasn't nearly as gnarly back then as it is today. (Early 90's)
The thought of hitting even a semi-big jump, commited, on a quad or three wheeler is pretty scary to me haha 😂
Not my thing, but good to see folks having fun and some retro photos whatever it's on 👍
250R also applied to two wheels
I was at Ocotillo when I did my knee, so luckily no paddles.
So rad. I’ve got a shot of me as 3-4 year old riding on the crossbar pad of my dads LT250R. Good times.
