What's your age?

I don't know if there is already a thread on the matter? Motocross appears to becoming an older mans sport; I see plenty of threads here about dodgy hearts & knees, makes me think that.

I started racing motocross here in Australia in 1975 as a 15 year-old, all my mates rode, we'd ride side-saddle to most tracks on our 125 mx bikes, the cops would just give us a warning, poor kids would get locked-up now (or maybe shot in the US ;-) )

I'm 56.

As a kid I was able to watch guys like Joel Robert, Decoster, Geboers, Weil etc race so you know I'm old.

No sh*t!! - Lots of us here are pushing 50. This sport is such a drug.. As long you stay healthy, minimize your risk, take responsibility for being in shape, it does keep you young. I have as much fun now as I did when I was in high school. I have several 'inspirational' friends who absolutely shred, and they're in their upper 50's. Age is just a number.. Until you wake up the next morning

27. I think you're right I noticed the same thing. People I meet at the track are mostly 40+ or 10-18. Not a lot of people in their twenties-thirties.

I think it's because the 10-18y/o group is riding on their parents expense, and 40+ is situated well enough, that they can afford to ride.

Turning 40 in october. Been riding since 1982. Soon to be father of 3 kids, all boys ..
Biggest question is where to get enough money to be able to afford 4 dirt bikes in the future .. :D

43 for another month. Shit, wait, I think I'm 44. That was my honest thought process before doing the math. Man, these years seriously fly bye bye.

Started racing at Indian Dunes in 1975 at 3 1/2

49 here. Started riding on the farm at 10 in'77, then began racing in '82. Sort of gave up racing and riding around '95 when I got married and got busier with work. Just started riding again a few years ago, and I really have the itch to race again but I'm a bit out of shape and I get massive arm pump and numb hands after two hard laps.

life behind bars is probably not how I would describe my lifestyle to people. you might get away with it in a mx forum but in real life... Grinning

regarding the topic. younger than chad reed. Cool and much slower too. CoolGrinning

20, didn't own a bike till I was 14 started racing at 15 (2011)

None of my bikes have seen the inside of a shop. Between that and money I at least have an excuse as to why I'm slow Laughing
