Is there some kind of racing reason for guys wearing red gloves?

PC Kawi riders, JLaw and many others have been wearing red gloves often even if they don't match with the rest of their gear. Not that it matters, just an observation.

It is bright and stands out. When you have to wear the same clothes as your teamates, anything to help you stand out is a good thing

I guess the teams with uniforms let them pick the glove colour. Wilson and Pourcel wore red yesterday and Rattray wore blue.

They do it, because they want to see people make threads on forums about...

It is a commonly known fact that red gloves produce 13.7% less arm pump than any other color. McGrath first discovered this when he had his glove induced arm pump issues.

Definatley avoid orange gloves at all costs. Insiders report that may the cause of a certain KTM rider struggling this year.

I think it looks cool. I've been doing that for years...green, orange and red sets of gear, yellow gloves...lol

I tend to run a different color glove than my gear, a little contrast never hurt anybody.

I own 3 pairs of gloves all red. Most of my gear is blue and my helmets are mostly red. Been running these colors for over ten years. They didn't call me the great southern trend killer for nothing in school.

You have to match your glove color to the color of the powerband you are using that day. I thought everyone knew that.

Laninovich would do it also, but slightly different. He would run 2 different colors on his gloves

Like the old British red uniforms from the wars of Independance, red doesn't show the blood so much!
Keeps the troops morale up looking around at a bunch of fallen comrades.

Yep, I always wear gloves that are completely different color than my gear. I just dont feel right unless I do it.

It's called "clashing". And I remember Jeff "Chicken" Matasevich doing it in 92-93 when he wore the red barbed wire Fox Gelprint jersey with the Purple barbed wire pants. And in 93, he did it with Xtreme gear, wearing a red Jersey with Yellow pants. I always thought those "Clash" combo's look BAD-ASS!
