An AMA pro 250 rider that is top 10 (I think) cannot race the 250 class here in Canada.

The 250 class up here is considered a Pro/AM class. Intermediates can try to qualify.

Why would you travel to a offseason sx and try to ride the 250 class anyways ? I'm sure he was paid good money to show up and can he not ride a big bike ? Love the troll train but come on man step and ride a 450 and see what you got.

I dont get it. Back in the day, guys who raced 125s practiced and played on 250s.

Today, there are guys who have raced 250s forever and say "I've never ridden a 450" Like how in the hell can that even be?

Easy guys. I’m sure he’s still looking to get that RMZ250 dialed in so he’s just getting seat time. It’s not a points paying race, and he’s probably getting paid just for being there.

Plus, any good result he gets will be even more impressive since he’s on a 250f. I hope he does well!

It looks to me like the 2018 model and not the 19? Doesn't make much sense if he wanted to have a legit chance up there

No 2019 because it’s not homologated

No homologation rule up here in Canada.

Could have raced the 2019 if he/they wanted too.

Weird. I read something on jgr’s ig the other day saying that’s why they weren’t riding the 19

I could be wrong but in the past some guys ran the newer models at the last round.

Could have changed with the new ownership.

Don't feel like looking it up, sorry lol.

Time when real men switched bikes for SX or MXoN is gone. I remember Everts being 125cc rider racing a 250cc suzuki at some ama sx rounds and also because he wanted to get on the MXDN team in 1994 he started to practice on a KX500 while he was fighting for the 250 world championship.

I am not sure what is going on. It says he is racing a 250 in the 450 class. I think that is a great idea to get some racing in and get used to that bike. Even if it was a 2017 bike, they can work on getting him into how the team works, practice, tuning, rider input, etc.

Racing a 250 in the 450 class is not allowed in the Rockstar Triple Crown Series. It's clearly stated in the rule book. I don't know how Martin and the team went to all the work to make the trip but apparently didn't read the rules. Perhaps some confusion as a result of the race being added to the triple crown series because bike size rule probably wouldn't have existed if it was a stand-alone event.

You realize that this race wasn't put on by the Jetwerx guys so it's not one of the Rockstar Triple Crown series races right?

They just decided to add it to their series as an extra round to help with the promotion. So clearly that's why A-Mart could race his 250 in the 450 class.

Yes, I realize this race was a bit unique. I mentioned that in my post.

Once it was added to the Triple Crown Series i think many people expected that the normal rules would apply. Sounds like they made an exception for Martin. Not much else they could do when he's already there and the promotor paid for him to attend.
