I think he realized it was going to be a long main event. He did put of couple seconds back on the board when Osborne started closing.

He destroyed 2 shoulders in '15MX and lost the '18SX for going too fast too soon - see AC, CS & ZO today. Beast mode will come later on.

Judging by the amount of people getting bit by the track last night, his unwillingness to push it when he isn't feeling comfortable paid off.
