I've been noticing with Motocross Action's website that they have been posting old stuff that came out in their magazine a month ago what's up with that. It seems like they're making old stuff new.

Just got my newest issue in the mail. 250F shootout. This is by far the worst year for shootouts, for them. There is no real order, only a winner and then categories for other bikes (best working-class bike etc.) They barely even talk about the bikes, in the article. Just for how much they talk themselves up, I was not impressed by their 250f/450 shootouts, this year. Anyone else agree?

I agree. I read through the whole issue and I hate rereading the same stuff about how good the KTM and HUSKY WP suspension is (it is good). How they made the suspension and how Husky lowered their suspension is cool, but boring, I'm always rereading the same stuff and its on every Husky and KTM bike test.

I just subscribed to MXA for the first time since 1984. Looking forward to getting a real magazine in the mail.

It's still a great magazine. There is just something about printed content.

MXA, although it has lost its shine it is still out there, and arguable still number one after 40 odd years.

Well done Jodie and the crew, there are not many companies that are at the top after so many years.

I still enjoy it and will continue to subscribe, as well. But just my input is they spend a lot of time talking about waiting to release the shootout so they can give you more content. And I would say that there is significantly less content than say the Vital or Swap shootouts, this year. So I was disappointed.

I agree it did seem like there was less meat to them. Not hating on MXA though, still love their magazines

Yeah, as noted in here, they've been doing that for years.

BTW, don't let your MXA prescription (I mean subscription) expire. Renewed Feb 23 and nothing in the mailbox as of yet, but my non-moto neighbor asked if I went up 1 tooth and what the word druthers means. Weird.

I bought one off the newsstand recently just for grins . There's really nothing in it for me anymore since I'm not into new bikes and just trailride if anything now . It's sad. I used to look forward to getting it every month but honestly now online content is all I really need.

My son looks forward to them every month. He's always asking me to go to the Mail to see if a new one came.

I've been a subscriber since '86. My only complaint is they need to take these shootouts to an east coast track..I know its a big leap of faith here for Jody, but there are lots of people who ride in places that aren't Southern California.

Every time they post anything that isn't current about a bike, the paragraph starts with

"We get misty eyed…. "

Subbed since the year of my 96 RM. I still enjoy it as much as I did then. Ex wife trashed my mags in 07. A crime worthy of assault, but WWJD, what would Jody do.. Traded her in for a 10 year newer factory ride that likes to get muddy. Life’s better.

I’m not a fan of their shootouts but their bike builds are cool and they test a lot of stuff. I snag an issue off the newsstand often. Support the sport

Update. Wife just got the mail, my "dirt porn" (as she calls it) was in the mail. Time to read Jody's Box. Cool

Maybe because they are the only company really progressing our sport. Big four are 10 years behind revamping same old bikes.
In fact if it weren't for the Austrian brand I could still be on my 09 rmz 450 and would be compatible to all four of current crop. Just saying.

My post was more about the lack of content than the winner. They waited until 22s are almost out to do the 21 shootouts, they bad-mouth other outlets for doing them early etc. And after all that talk, all that wait there is really no content. They barely talk about the bikes. They wasted a full page on individual dyno bar graphs and show the same info condensed into a smaller chart on another page (which was the only one needed in the 1st place.)

As far as the bikes themselves, I am not saying you are wrong, the Euro brands are great. That being said, I just sold my Husky for a 21 YZ250F.

MXA is a comic printed on the back of the decal adds and not much more than one blokes vanity project.
Read it at the news stand and save your money for hard parts.
