The couple I have seen were basically retail and that was a couple months ago. Not a great deal at retail because they are only a couple hundred less than the other Japanese bikes.

At the onset of the scamdemic many were expecting economic doomsday. I picked up a 350 for a great deal.

But before that I was at a Suzuki dealer just to pick up a new gas can.

He offered me a brand new 250F for 5k otd when he saw me sitting on it.

Nah, Im good.

Few minutes later, “name your price”.

Im good.

“4500?”

No thanks. Really. Im not buying a bike today.

“4000 otd, final offer, it’s yours to take”.

And for a moment I considered buying it because that’s such an insane price.

Later that week either someone else got a great deal or about a month later he got full retail plus every BS setup fee for that bike.

Around 9-10k in So Cal. Above/Close to MSRP out the door is most likely the best deal to be had in this market.

Suzuki is still offering their $500 rebate on RMZ250s ($1000 if you can find a previous model year), so it is more like $1000 to 1500 cheaper than other Japanese bikes at retail.

I called 8 dealers today scattered thru out the midwest searching for a new 2021 raptor 700 base model...Nothing available anywhere...The one Raptor R was available for full MSRP + all the other fees...The other Raptor R SE I found they wanted $9899.00 + fees...

They build considerably fewer raptor 700/yfz450 than any 2 wheel machine. They weren't that easy to find pre-pandemic so not sure why that would change now.

Same thing here...(Louisiana) a local dealer has a new 20 RMZ250, sitting on the floor since before Covid... and they're not budging much from retail price. I think they offered to knock off $600, but still a bit too much.

If it's a '20, in addition to whatever dealer discount they are offering, Suzuki will give you $1000 rebate and the wifi tuner.

4000 otd for a new 250f? I'd feel seriously bad passing that up.

Went into a local shop today and asked for a price on a mini bike for my nephew, The salesman says “msrp is 3100 then after all taxes and fees it will be about 5700 out the door”

I about shit my pants! I told him the last bike I bought the tax, set up & freight fees came out to about 1200 bucks (tc 250 in July 2019) I couldn’t believe that anyone else seeing higher Set up and freight fees? I totally get they gotta get something for that but 2600 bucks seems a little insane or am I the crazy one?

I was one of those that was expecting economic doomsday just as much as that Suzuki dealer LOL. I was literally there picking up gas cans for emergency fuel storage HAHAHA. So saving money seemed wise at that moment in time.

Things were pretty tense where I was. Lotsa fighting in stores for toilet paper and all that shit. I wasnt worried about covid as much as I was worried about society snapping. We prepped early so we could bunker down at home if things popped off.

Had I come home with a new bike under those circumstances that woulda been a hard sell to the wife LOLOL.

That’s definitely up there. Been seeing a lot of people paying $4k for a new Honda 110. The little bike market is nuts. There are dealers selling them at MSRP still, but they have a waiting list months long usually. But a guy I know got his kid a KLX110 and paid $2500 for a new one, it just took him three months to get it. The little bikes that are in stock are bonkers priced here too.

Funny thing…I bought a sweet little RM 125 (2007) last fall and picked up a new 450X, too. Deals were still out there but ya had to go looking for them. Recently I got the new 2022 KLR650 Adventure for just a little under retail and that feels like a good deal, too.

Next up: waiting on the new FE/RE (deposit made).

Times have changed. I’m actually pretty stoked for the dealers I know. They’re all good peeps and they’re not screwing people over.

I followed your rmz450 thread religiously in 2018. I've been wanting a new Suzuki since the current model came out but kept giving myself reasons not to get one. I'm getting rid of a few bikes so I can now justify a yellow bike to take their spot. I need a 250 for SX Futures or else i'd be picking up a 450. Hopefully i'll find a deal before the year rolls over!

A month before you got that quote I was quoted $9k otd for a gasgas mc250f and $8-8.5k for 2021 kx250s from a couple places.

Post a reply to: What's the best OTD price you've seen for a current model RMZ250?
