Hi I just joined 10 minutes ago to ask this question. What do you guys think is the best way to transport a MX bike? Is it on a trailer? Hauler? On the back of a pick up truck? or some other way? what are the pros and cons in your opinion?
I'm asking because I want to start riding MX but first I need to decide what car/transportation equipment I should get.
Thanks a lot for your help.

Even though I have a pickup I like to use a trailer , its easier to get the bike on and off. I carry everything else in the bed of the pickup.

I like to gear up and just ride my bike to the track. It's only an hour ride and riding my bike on the highway is illegal but who cares ya know? J/K but either van or pickup.. Pickup is easy to load up but van keeps your stuff out of the weather.

But your suspension better be dialed in for that landing.

I knew this would get funny. I use my truck now but I sure miss my van. If you are just out and back...a truck or car/trailer is ok. A van is secure for overnight and is more comfy for gearing up/down.

Hey however you got to get to the track, just get your ass there and ride. I just thought the DeSoto story was great honestly. I wasn't trying to step on toes. I didn't come from a wealthy family and use to roll the biggest hunk of shit to go ride, and loved every second of it.

Thanks so far guys.

Didn't think you meant anything dude...I had heard that story also....probably one of the reasons I wasn't too embarrassed about what I had to do. I'm sure us po' folks enjoy ridin/racin as much as the silver spooners.

The best vehicle for this sport is a half ton van. Ford Eonoline or GMC Vandura etc. Low bumper for loading, Good security for bikes and gear when you go into a resturant etc and at the track. Not to bad on gas. Solid panel would be better than window van.
