If your old enough to remember, the early to mid 80's had many winners and barn burner races. People forget. And the young ones will think that 2011 was the best. But really, those years in the 80's had many winners every year. Nobody one 12 races a year back then-the talent was really deep!
Exactly!

The season I looked most forward to since I've been watching (started in 99, I'm only 28 give me a break) was the 2005 season. Reed the previous champ, Carmichael coming from a year off SX, and Bubba coming up to the 250 class. Throw in Windham as a spoiler. That year delivered regardless of what the final points looked like. Even after Bubba got hurt and made his return.
you forgot McGrath out of retirement on the honda, I just went back and watched A1 2005 and just seeing all those big dogs on the line together was epic lol

The question wasn’t what was your favorite year for supercross or who your favorite riders are. It was... what was the most “stacked” season. No way anything from mid 90’s on was more stacked than early/mid 80’s through the early 90’s. Plain and simple. there were more factory riders and more factory riders on the track who could have won on any given night. I said 1990 with good reason but I’m not at all opposed to thinking anything from 82-92 was just as stacked. But definitely no way anything in the 2000’s can be considered a stacked field. Talented absolutely.. but not stacked.

The only thing “stacked“ about supercross in the last 10 years or so is...... the monster girls!

I think we can all agree on that!

2005 had more previous 125 and/or 250 SX winners in the mix than any year I can think of.
