I am going to be getting a new 450 in a couple weeks. Out of any 450 what would you all have?

If I had to buy a 450 it would be a Maico 450 AW.
Otherwise I would just buy the 250F that I could get the best deal on.

2010 Kaw or 2008 Honda.

If you go Honda, install some black rims. Perhaps some red hubs.

Renthal grips. Medium spicy. Dunlop 756. Hell, buy a bar-pad.

Money no object? KTM for sure.

I have ridden a few of the new models, and unlike some, I actually really like the Honda.

Choose which one you get the best deal on and go for it.

If you are buying a left over model and can find one buy the 08 CRF. If you want an 010 buy the KTM. Why would anyone buy a bike other than the best bike that year in it's class? No matter what you buy you will have to put a little dough into it to get it exactly where you want it. Start with the best package available.

KTM for sure. I never gave them a chance in the past but the quality is unmatched.

I have two and have had no problems out of either one. They have the best brakes, electric start, The engines last forever (not counting the 144) They come with unbreakable levers and hydraulic clutches. What bad experiences have you had?

again, completely disagree with you, from My experience.... but great that they work for you.
The one and only one thing i will agree on is the brakes...and thats probably becasuse it's NOT KTM brakes, its Brembo.

I also HATED the hydrolic clutch....

I'll never buy another one..ever!

That's interesting!

What didn't you like about the clutch? My only issue with it was that if I really abused it (I did a few enduro's and cross country events), then it would fade a little. I did bleed mine quite often as well. I preferred it to the hydraulic clutch I had on my TMs.

The only issues I had with the KTMs I owned were fork seals on my '98 250exc (on those big 50mm forks) and I broke two back wheels racing mx. Other than that, the KTMs were bulletproof.

Was the hydraulic clutch you had on your TMs a Grimeca or a Hebo? I found the Hebo clutch way nicer than the Magura. The Grimecas seemed pretty cobbly.
My TM came with a Magura clutch which I never cared for all that much, but it was just as good as a KTM.

Try one of these! My new ride seems to work...

I will share an update on the bike later this weekend with new pictures and let you know how I really feel about the new 2010 coming off of my 09 YZ 250 2-Stroke...

and yes; I am keeping the 2-Stroke!
