What was your first bike?

Mine was a 1986 Kawasaki KD80

I rode this thing daily, all over the neighborhood, We had single track trails and little home made tracks all around the neighborhood, and I lived in a suburb not way out in the country, Several kids in the area had dirt bikes.
I truly think kids that grow up riding dirt bikes are the luckiest kids in the world.

1974 Honda MR50. Tenth birthday gift. Won’t include the pullstart mini bike I got the year before. Skinned knuckles, bruises and burns. Lol.

My first bike was a 2003 Honda XR80 for my 12th birthday. I took a trip with my mom and sister to Minnesota to see the Mall of America the week before. My dad told me he went and looked at some bikes when I got home from the trip. Then for my birthday, a shiny new motorcycle came home. My mom was PISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSED! We still have the picture of her standing next to me with my new bike with fire in her eyes. I really wish we would have kept that bike for use in the pits.

1974 XR75. I liked having a motorcycle, but that thing didn't run very well. I almost never got to ride it.

A year later, my dad got me an '82 RM80 on June 30, 1983. I also had a network of trails and tracks all over my area - I could ride on dirt to almost any location in town. That's the best life a 12-YO can live.

1973 DT100. Snuck it in under moms nose…wasn’t running, gal who had it said if we could get it running we could have it for 25.00.

Back when I could ride around in a parking lot for hours and be perfectly happy, lol.

1977 Suzuki DS 80. It was orange. I'll try to dig up a photo. Rode it so much the first day we almost wore out the chain. There was a tutorial on chain lubrication and adjustment the next day with Dad.

I started much later than most. I was 22 or so and picked up a 99 kx250 that was blown up for $500. Rebuilt the top and bottom end and rode the crap out of some fields with that bike.
