It’s easy for me: 2006. The 250 2 stroke class was at its pinnacle of development, and the OE look that year was perfectly clean and understated.

2003 CR (wearing ‘06 again)




2005 YZ (in the garage now, wearing 2k6 yet again)

1992 250 class, just because the styling, graphics, and color choices were bonkers on every single one of them.

I mean, look at these guys... it's like a committee consisting of the band LMFAO, Malibu Skipper, and three 6th graders coordinated the look:

Anything from the 1990`s, when i could tell a year model apart. Was always excinting for bike releases as they were always so different year to year. The last 15 years I could barely tell whats what each year so similar

2000 Cr 250R for me. I had always rode Yamahas, but being a taller rider this bike and frame fit me perfectly. Plus my Dad who was an engineer was amazed by the craftsmanship of the bike. I wish I kept it or got another when I had the chance instead of getting the 02 that just felt cramped in comparasion.

The Honda CR125 in 1989 I had and this KTM350 I have. Both are just on point.
The 125 just did everything I needed at the time and improved my riding 100%
The 3fiddy is so easy to ride for the old broken down donkey I am

That cr was my 1st Mx bike if I still had it I would race it. Just look at how different all the bikes look. Next would be anything from the 90,s. They all look different. 05-07 2-st are really good yrs. 04 is interesting because the 125,s where all great but the 250f was taking over. Last yr of the steel framed YZ. The 04 cr125 was unfinished motor wise. Deck a lot off the bottom and port bring the compression up. And it’s a totally diff engine and sounds sicker than any 125 ever. Like a pack of Tom cats with rabies fighting.

I agree the 05-08 era was unmatched.

I actually think they were better than new bikes in many ways.

Take an 07 250f. Lighter, better bottom end, great suspension.

The newer 250fs make stupid top end but there aren’t many riders capable of staying 11-14k rpms.

The 07 era yz and crf250s make great roll on and super easy to ride while being what 10-20lbs lighter than many new 250fs.

The 2008 CRF450R. They don’t get better in my eyes. I’d love to build one and have it in the garage. This is a pic of in late 2007 running B class. Man I miss those days!

Best bike i ever had.

Won my first race on one, against proper guys, after years of being an also ran.

Made every other 125 obsolete overnight.

Nice choice . That model year in particular with all models going to single shock rear suspension and being the first year with liquid cooled production bikes . It was an exciting time when I used to look forward to seeing what the next advancement would be .

The 97 KX-250 was an incredible race bike. It had a serious hit right off the bottom which made it a viable holeshot weapon.



I had the #4 on mine before RC did.

Yup... 81... the year of liquid cooling, plus single shocks across the board.... a year of massive change and ridiculous amounts of trickness!!!
