15th place, 4hours on the bike in terms of both physics and testing. Not a proven factory bike but first private husky in that range - no settings to go from.
Injured foot, means only thing you might have been able to do is swim, lightly to get cardio. Not been on a bike really since may.

That's a freaking accomplishment I put in line with Ken and Barcia for the night.

Too bad he had that heroic ride last night, so you look like a douche :D
Heroic you say....Please explain to me, in detail, how him riding a dirt bike was in anyway an act of heroism.

I admire his willingness to go race but you are s former champ and badass and this all seems beneath you. If you won’t get hired for factory ride then might be time to hang it up. He should know you can’t compete without top equipment and a team behind you. It’s almost impossible at this level.

All that being said I know he hasn’t had much time on the bike and he has nothing more to prove and I hope he proves me wrong because I’ll be rooting for him. Just hate he doesn’t have a ride.
You are misinformed.

A rhetorical question is your response? Reed is a legend of the sport, always will be. I'm not sure if you are willing to look at the obvious, or if you didn't take your shower dreaming about Anderson adding the creme to your cheerios. Just stfu and let the "fan boys" be happy. After all, they actually appreciate someone doing it for the love of the sport.

Not the bikes fault he finished where he did. I’m sure that Husky is plenty capable of running well into the top 10.

Reeds getting old and he just got going on a new bike, where did u expect him to finish? After the injuries start taking away half the field he would be top ten at the speed he is now. Knowing Reed he will stay in one piece and by the last part of the year he will be in the top 5. Nothing wrong with that if he still enjoys lining up

I think this is very much his motivation. I think I heard that he can pass Laroccos record for most starts ever, if he makes all the main events this year. I know he loves the sport, but I think the record is at least part of his motivation.

The guy has more guts, passion and determination than most of the field. People applaud Dean and Bam Bam for going out and doing their own thing because they love the sport, but can't give it up for Chad. What did Dean place at A1 last year with no injury and significant prep time? How about Bam Bam at the Open? The didn't burn up the track. Should they have stayed at home and give it all up? Shit, Chad could hardly even put any weight on that ankle. Pretty much anybody else would have packed it up and gone home in the same situation before the main gate drop.

Do you realize he is still making a lot of money to race. He probably get paid more to wear fox riding gear for 17 supercross races than you get paid to work the whole year.

Most people on this forum pay to ride and race whenever we get the free time, why wouldn't Chad keep doing it???

I believe Chad had surgery on his foot 10 weeks ago and his doctor told him to keep all weight off it for 12 weeks. I think is race bikes only got put together in the past month and I doubt he has more than an hour or two in the saddle before Anaheim 1.

I'm a fan and hope he as fun and keeps it on 2 wheels. I will be surprised if he can't pull out a few top 5 finishes by mid season

I was there last night. During the rider intros Reed got the loudest cheer from the stadium hands down. The nights winner MM25 was actually Booo’d. Ppl love CR22 including me. I hope he races for 5 more years!

Coming off injury, and new bike. Give him a few weeks.
When he's no longer competitive, he'll retire. That isn't now.

He made the main event essentially coming off the couch. That’s damn impressive no matter who you are. Reed is also one of the best to ever throw a leg over the bike, I’m sure he knows what he is doing. He loves racing and wants to do it as long as he can. Not sure why people would knock someone for doing that.

I'd love to see him retire at 40. Set a super high bar for oldest person qualify for a supercross main. It wouldn't be broken for many many years, if ever.

Most riders seem to retire before 30 these days. Factory rides are hard to come by once you're older. Hard to imagine the few willing to race til that age doing so in Reeds circumstances.

To qualify straight out of the main, and gut out a 15th with zero prep on a new bike, and score more points than Tomac...tells you all you need to know about the guy. He will end up with the record for mains made in SX history and I am not sure that record will ever be broken once he establishes this new mark. Reed is a badass and battled them all with nothing asked, and nothing was given on his end. A podium by years' end would be unbelievable. Until the Chadapault at Millville, he was taking it to RV and I believe he would have won that the outdoors that season-dude was ON IT.

Last night Chad showed me that he's still a guy that you should never "write off". He was obviously in pain during the 1st practice session and you could see him riding VERY CAREFULLY and waaaaay conservative...

But, as the night went on and as he spent more time on the bike...he got better...
He got faster...
He started to loosen up and look a little more "Chad".

I'm stoked that he rode it out and, like Kenny, HE SLAMMED THE NAY-SAYERS.

Chad
Kenny
Justin Barcia
Tyler Bowers

ALL...very impressive.

Maybe he just wants to race and have fun, thats only what hes said a million times. Maybe he doesn’t care so much anymore about being first.

Thats crazy I find it hard to believe Musquin was booed, he's a clean rider, polite, respectful, nice guy, maybe because he's french? Reed on the other hand when it comes to professionalism...Then again one is more exciting to watch than the other for sure.

I hardly ever agree with logic around here...but I agree with that.

What the OP is referring to, is how many retired pros can get too 10s but they dont want to because they would feel like shit getting 10-15 knowing that just 3 years ago they could beat everyone. I understand what hes saying. Reed cant feel good getting beat by guys he called "chumps" on TV. Whos a chump now? Brayton or Reed?

Great post!! I've cracking up with all the funny shit on here today. Literally almost spit my drink out a few times. Between Visor-gate and Tomac's pants falling down there's been some seriously great stuff on here today.

Off the couch 15th. Yea what is he doing ?! Huh

Raw talent with no training or time on a privately purchased machine ? Yea he sucks...not? Good for him. I hope he races pro until he is John Grewe’s age!
