What size bike for 5 and 6 year old

What bikes should I be looking at for a 5 and 6 year old? They have some little 50 quads but this will be their first dirtbike. I was looking at PW50 or KDX50s but not sure if those are already going to be too small. Im 6'1" and I can ride a CRF50 with a bar kit, so not sure how big of a kid can ride a PW....

Id rather the bike be too small than too big.

I’d go crf50 and let them learn shifting. I have a 4 year old, he’s a little small for his age and has a hard time riding his pw by himself (we normally just ride it together). He has an OSET 12.5r which he rides well but the pw is a little tall and heavy for him at the moment.

PW would probably be fine for a little bit for a 5/6 year old but I think you’ll get more use out of the crf long term.

TTR50. Bought one for my daughter and she loves it! She turned 5 in February.

I got twin 5 year olds, one of them rides a ktm50 sx jr and other rides a pw50

At 5, my son started his passion on a PW50. twist and go, bullet proof.
If you buy a clean one (PW50 or as they are now called TTR50), you won't
lose a dime. If you buy a used CRF it likely was hammered by an adult.
If you buy a new CRF they will last forever also or until the adults abuse them.
Both good choices. They really don't need to learn to shift yet as they will
probably transition to a KTM 50 later that is also twist and go.

The PW50 is a shaft driven 2-stroke. The TTR50 is an electric start, chain drive 4 stroke and weighs a metric shit ton for a fiddy.

I would look at a used Suzuki Jr50 or Yamaha PW50 both 2-strokes if you can find a clean one.
The CRF50/XR50 and the TTR50 weigh about as much as my truck.

My 4 year old can handle the pw50 and touch the ground with both feet. He can ride the CRF50 but only touch one foot. Unless your kids are small for thier ages, go for a slightly bigger CRF50 or TTR50.
