Ducati 250 single from the early 60s. I'll have to check on the exact year. We own a bunch of bikes from the 60s-70s but I'm pretty sure the Duc is the oldest.

My 1991 TS200R. Its a street legal 2 stroke liquid dual sport. Got it when I was 16 and rode it for a couple years before selling it. Tracked it down and bought it back last summer.

Bought it to have a project for the wife and I to tinker on together.

Photos when we bought it. Bike ran, but suspension was trashed and no brakes. Was not well treated but complete which is what we were after.


Current, got a bit of parts in today to get it closer to completion. Last large item i'm trying to find is an aftermarket pipe for this thing which is proving beyond difficult.

Wasn't going to play since all of my fullsize bikes are from the 2000's, but since DC posted a vintage mini Honda I'll share mine.



1969-1970 (exact year unknown) Lil Indian Sabre. Has been rebuilt a couple times, I raced it all over Milwaukee last month. Had a 3 hp flathead Tecumseh for about 10 years, then I put a Harbor Freight Predator on it with minor bolt ons for the Mama Tried/Flat out Friday races. Just bought a Briggs World Formula kart motor that will double the horsepower since it wasn't quite sketchy enough. Once everything fits (still fabbing the exhaust) I'll have the frame, forks and handlebars powdercoated to restore it correctly.

Helmet cam from one of my fellow racers when we raced through a bar, I'm #138.

That brings back some memories... Had an 83 YZ125. It was a great bike.

2000 CR125 bought as a mental therapy rebuild while down and out with a pilon fractured ankle and as a trial to see if I would be able to ride again. Wife said no more 450’s, so 125’s it is. This thing has brought me so many smiles. Parts added the week before the tracks were shutdown and haven’t had a chance to test. Kehin air Stryker carby, Boyesen rad valve and Swedetech exhaust manifold. Jones’n bad!

Here’s my ‘73 CL350. Owned it for 15+ years. This is a great bike. Starts right up, idles, everything works as it should.

Don’t still have them, but my first “bike” also was a Little Indian. I don’t believe it had rear suspension, but it had a jack shaft. My next bike was a Honda CT70, gold with the 3 speed, auto clutch.

Rup, where are those photos from? Looks like The Hammersville National from 1974

Cool thread. I was going to respond ‘83 CR480, but then I remembered the ‘79 XL75.

We were up camping at Trinity Lake and my Dad’s friend bought it new at Weaverville Honda. Good camping bike, take it up to the entrance of the campground to make a phone call, go to the Marina, etc.

When it came time((early ‘87) for my Dad’s friend to get his son a bigger bike, my Dad exchanged the ‘83 CR250 I raced for that little XL. I’ve had it about 10 years now and freshen it up from time to time (and it looks like it’s due!). 🤓

My 2006 KX250

I took about 12 years off from riding and my last bike I rode/raced was a 2000 KX250. I found this in unridden condition here on vital and love to ride it even though it wears me out faster than a 450, I always get lots of comments at the track when I’m riding it so I will probably never sell it!

1973/4 CR250 Elsinore that I have been vintage racing off and on (currently off...Blush ) since 1991. It's a bit of a money pit but still one of the most desirable bikes for the vintage(1974 and earlier) class. Who else around here can say their bike is still the most competitive bike in the class after 30 years of racing it?Wink

1981 MAICO 490. Still have it. Still race it. The original owner was a neighbor that sold me his '79 MAICO 400. He had to quit riding after a car accident. Out of the blue he decided to give it to me under one condition, that I never sell it. I have kept that promise for over thirty years. When I take that final checkered flag it goes to my son.
