I thought he said last year he'd have to make at least half the mains in 2018 to beat it. I can't remember how many he's behind Mike.

LaRocco just read this forum and jumped on his Fire-Breathing Red Dragon. He can now wear #5 again since RD5 isn't racing anymore. He will qualify on his '05 CR250 to beat Reed just like Indianapolis '04...Laughing

Chatted a bit with the Rock at Washougal this past year. While friendly he was still all business and focused on his riders. While no way he races again I bet if he put his mind to it I have no doubt he'd be within a second of Reed......

Impressive numbers for Larocco, especially since he spent a lot of time on the mend from breaking his wrist a few times in his Suzuki days.

Not sure but Reed plans to race next year so he'll have no problem going past Larocco's record. We're not even half way through the season and he's only a few away.

Go Reed.

Go ahead and remove the wins one. That is way out of the question at this point. He's almost a hazard like the rest of the lappers.

The most impressive stat on there is Dungey only finishing outside the top 5 12 times in his whole 450 career.

I think Justin Brayton has a better chance of doing that at this point than Chad Reed does.

Nah. He needs one win I believe to be the oldest main event winner.
In Phoenix last year he beat all these guys (except Kenny) when he finished second only to Dungey.

He had essentially no offseason this year. Of course he's not on top of his game now.
Maybe he will get back into shape and comfortable within the next 14 rounds.
If he does, it's still unlikely that he will win a main - but IMO it's no impossible

Let the stars align, on one of those nights and ole skippy will pull out win... his charging through the pack days are over.. but if he gets a holeshot and the current top guys all end up back in 12th place or beyond on the start. he might pull of a win.

In Phoenix last year he got second to Tomac.
Roczen was out of series.

I’d like to see the total SX points stat. I think Reed would be miles ahead of 2nd.
With 2 titles and multiple times finishing less than 10 points behind the champ.

I think 2 times under 10, 1 of which was under 5 points, tied with JS.

Did Reed get 3 main event starts counted for A2? They kept saying each of those was a MAIN EVENT

Absolutely. 90% of his 450 starts he finished in the top 5-that record will NEVER be broken, just like 72 SX wins.

No. It doesn't appear they're tracking holeshots or laps led either for these triple crown events.

It's the round right before he announces his retirement.

Pretty much! He has no “real” records.. so he’ll go for starts..

4th on the win list, what a failure of a career
