When I purchased my 06, it had fresh Wiseco single ring race piston in it. The part number on that piston shows it is a Yamaha YZ 250 piston. I heard that people run the yami piston in it - some more intel on that would be appreciated. The guy gave me a brand new Vertex piston with it also, which is a double ring, and is the RM 250 piston. I am kind of sketched out to run it with a yami piston in it. I am thinking to replace it with the Vertex piston. What do you guys think?

Yup that's what is mine. One of Digger29 old bikes built by Ron Bushy. John Dowds old factory mechanic. Thing rips!!! Major engine work done to it though.

Pretty much indentical engines, based off the YZ. Run the YZ pistons, I have in all of my RM’s, most everyone i know run YZ pistons, better overall performance vs. the RM piston.

Wiseco racer elite here. It's also a single ring. About 20hrs on it no issues, runs great.

Run the Wiesco Racers Choice 808 YZ250 piston in the RM250. The bike won't even sound the same with it. You'll thank me later :-)

Wiseco is still making the racers choice piston however no more TiNi rings for it. Still a good piston and yes, run the YZ piston in the RM as noted.
