I'm getting pretty damn frustrated with some of MXA's inflammatory propaganda. A story heading on their site right now reads, "When they talk about the GOAT-it's really "The Man" they are referring to." As much respect as I have for DeCoster, having a heading like that for a story seems like they just want to make people mad. Roger himself would probably take exception to them calling anyone but Carmichael the GOAT. Anyone else want to chime in on this? Sorry, but I just had to vent my thoughts on this one.
The Shop
So, yes, Carmichael is still the GOAT.
Fixed it for ya
Pit Row
This very forum would not exist if not for DeCoster.
You people and all of your MXA posts. Beginning to think it's more popular than Vital.
McGrath schooled the world on the art of SX and continued to elevate the status of the sport beyond Smith, Hannah and Johnson. Amazing stuff and glad I was able to witness it for all those years. RC, Stewart, Dungey and Villopoto were all greats themselves but McGrath had them all covered in the "Showtime" category.
At the end of the day...
Both Ricky and Jeremy would yield and say Roger really is "The Man" & if that means he's "The GOAT" as declared by MXA?
They'd BOTH say,"O.K. I'm fine with that. Respect. Thank you, Roger, for all you've done for our sport."
Get this: they're BOTH respectful of Roger. They both know who's who in this game.
One rider dominated on both sides of the pond and the other dominated National series. One did it during the day of 45 min moto and no trainers. Roger had little support at the start when the other was bred to be a champion as soon as he was out of diapers. One continued into the sport to this day and also spent a lot of his time with the MXDN teams for a country that wasn’t his own. MXA is old school and they have every right to express their opinion on who made and is still making a bigger impact in the sport
