1981 RM-125. Lots of holeshots, lots of race wins, never an ounce of trouble.

05 and 07 CRF450’s. I hammered those bikes for 2-3 years a piece and never did shit but change oil and clean air filter. Great bikes. That 05 was burnt toast when I finally sold it tho Laughing

09 yz250f. I raced it six seasons, one clutch and lots of tires and a couple chain and sprockets. Good starts and handled good.

My 2007 crf450 was the fastest bike on the track that year.

My 06 525. Terrible forks (dampener really helped that mess), but lots of great features.
RFS motor with a carb. is great for the woods of the NE Can-A-da.
Easy to do basic maintenance (valve adjustments).

It’s been swimming, a pig in shit, rock fests.
Orange submarine.

Paid for, and now that I have praised it, it will probably blow up.

59 next month, have no idea what to get next so I enjoy what I have when I can.
The less electronics/simple the better when you are 12 miles past nowhere.

07 and 08 yz250f. Bulletproof is an understatement. Hammered them both for a good 4-5 years

97 YZ250. It was clapped out when I got it and it still refused to let go during the time I abused it.

My all time favorite was a 1978 KX125 A4. It was pretty fast, handled well and I never had any issues with it. There were only 2000 made so it was usually the only green machine n the 125 class at the local races

02 & 03 YZ125 bikes seemed bullet proof, no issues at all.

Hour meter broke around 260 hours, sold it to a buddy and he’s still riding it.

That was a great bike! 1981 Honda 450 not. Terrible bike. But DeCoster came in and got them fixed by 82-84.

2014 yz450. Never even put me on the ground once! This is not my normal lol. 100 hours now, one oil change at 50 hours. Three dune trips, lots of wheelies jumping clutch abuse never even a loose spoke. Far and away the most trouble free stone reliable bike I have ever owned. Slight wiggle on turn in, lol.

On a odd side note, scored a 756 rear tire a couple years ago and it made the lean angle, and front steer issues be completely non existent while it lasted lol. That tire was exactly as good as I remembered. The mx32 that came before it and mx33 on it now have better straightline, leaned over traction not even close. Got a cherry 756 front hanging in the garage to run on it next. Be a sad day that tire wears out haha

Also 88 cr250. Sucker blew up on me a couple times over the years, but also saved me from several head on collisions due to the superb oversteer(!).

Cool topic. I’d say the best luck I had was with the 2005-2007 era Honda 250fs. I put a lot of hard moto and off-road hours on them and only did oil and filters. Never had an issue.

Wasn’t so lucky with my 2011

1998 YZ 125. I rode the crap out of that bike and loved it. I raced it an entire day two classes on a sand track with no oil in the tranny and it lasted until the last Moto of the day before it finally let. go. That bike was amazing. After that I would say my 2007 CRF450 was an awesome bike.

My current bike: 2004 RM250. I think it has a guardian angel in there somewhere. This bike has brought me back from the brink of so many crashes. (it helps that it's very lightweight and handles like a dream).

I had a lot of YZ125s from 1997 to 2005 and they were all very reliable. My '01 was magical, though. Just amazing.
