OEM grips seem to be applied with military grade extra strength super glue. My grip is literally melted on the throttle tube.

Scissors, razor blades, nothing is getting it off. What did you use?

It's vulcanized on there. Just go buy an aluminum throttle tube. They don't cost much.

Not uncommon for stock grips to be vulcanized to the tube.

Yeah, not buying an aluminum tube. Almost lost a leg due to one of those.

I can’t believe that they even sell grips anymore that need to be glued on. ODI all the way

There is a lot of liability in a manufactures grip coming off when one is riding it.

A belt sander works good, I've also used a wire wheel on a bench grinder when I was in a pinch. Its a little messy but it works.

Aluminum bends, but doesn’t break. My throttle tube bent and stuck the throttle wide open. I was pinned under the bike with my left leg on top of the rear wheel and subframe. I could barely keep the clutch engaged to keep the rear wheel from sucking my leg in and snapping it.

How would an aluminum throttle tube be any more dangerous to losing your leg than the bar end?
