Absolutely. I was thankful for yesterday's weather. I'm sure the riders were, as well.

I thought the track was a perfect mix of hard packed , loose / deep and pretty damn rough. I think Hangtown and GH both were prepped awesome. It's nice seeing the tracks made up in a way that doesn't cause it to turn out like a slot car track.

Strange post. I missed it n person this year as we had to travel but watching on TV the track looked as brutal as ever. Looked pretty sandy (or whatever it is) on the low sections and it seemed like there was some great racing going on. Any rougher and it would separate the haves
from the have nots more than they already are

Coming down st helen and making the inside on the left hander had to be a miracle. I can barely make the outside line without chipping all my teeth on my 4cs forks.

What is this guy talking about? He obviously wasn't there in person. I was. It was gnarly like it always is. Strange post

Kenny said it was, "super gnarly" in a post-race interview. I'll take his word for it.

Some people prefer “rut-cross”.

I though get it looked gnarly from my couch.

Not to derail the thread but did you see the crowd size? So many more spectators than Now...

Unless you've raced there you can't really appreciate how the top pros make it look so easy. A screen doesn't do it any justice.

You are delusional. That track was plenty rough! I was actually watching it thinking I want nothing to do with that shit lol. The bitching on vital is at an all time high. We had awesome racing on a brutal track and people are moaning like they got their dick stuck in a mouse trap about everything. Go actually ride your dirt bike, drink some beer, and plow the ole hen. Then all this petty stuff wont bother you near as much.Wink

Agree with the jumps. I’ll also add different sections (outside vs inside) in the same area of the track. The shit doesn’t work in Supercross so we add to outdoor motocross? Jody needs to retire — he’s lost his mind on the jumps and sections of the track.

Just want to say "thank you" Sunshine, for posting this race. I was there when the event took place but, it was sure fun to watch/relive this race one more time. Smile

It sure looked sandier than whenever I've ridden it on practice days. That track looked tough!! I don't know what you are talking about saying it looked hard packed and smooth. Did you even watch the race?

Obviously, you and I don't know what we're talking about...
Let's leave it to the video analysis experts.

The track didn't look too smooth to me. These posts after this weeks race are killing me. Glen Helen was soooo smooth! The talent pool is soooo shallow! The racing is soooo boring! I thought if anything the way they routed the track made it a little one lined. Also I think something that is lost on a lot of the mouth breathers on this forum is that that was super long lap time and people get spread way out. Either way I thought the show that the top 450 guys gave us was pretty damned awesome. Eli went into BEAST mode late in moto 2!

Going down Mt. St. Helens at the end of the final motos is truly the highway to hell.

I support less jumps. Makes me feel better about myself

Personally I'm glad that the track held up better and wasn't a man eater. Glen Helen for too long has been the track that other track prepper's have tried to copy, and it's been bad for the sport.

The Elite riders being tested to the ultimate on 1 track a year is one thing, when every track in the country goes to ruts peg deep all over the track, it has ruined the sport.

Americans calls rough Lommel, but for me definition of a rough and tough track is GH. I think GH its not motocross anymore, this is mix of huge supercross, enduro and GNCC tracks together.
