What happened here?

His bike needed to be shifted 15 feet before the lip. That much momentum and high revs to only be chopped at the base of the lip created the same thing as putting the brakes on mid air and because of how aggressive he hit the lip and chopped it was like the brakes affect 10x harder. He needs to know to shift before the bike hits the maximum revs. It’s kind of like something I teach my riders about when entering a hi speed corner with a lot of bumps, u can’t shift down and not pull the clutch because engine braking will make the rear end pop up and rebound off every bump. Engine braking is a huge gyro affect and will make u unstanble if u don’t know what to do. In this case he pinned the bike till it ran out and then off the lip he chopped the throttle and that dropped the front end cause the rear wheel became really really heavy! Realistically even pulling in the clutch wouldn’t have helped, he needed to leave the lip and pin it, even that probably wouldn’t have saved him cause the bike was already revved out and wouldn’t be able to catch back up with the momentum to keep the rear end down.
