I found an RM125 and it’s a 2008 bike. Anyone know what’s common to fail on them and stuff like that. I figure I could get it down to at least 2500 and it’s a thousand cheaper than a really mint 2011 YZ125 I’m looking at. The YZ is a better bike but the price is much more demanding plus the RMs were known to be quite good bikes.
I would rather the YZ but if I get an RM I’d be out on the track much quicker than on that YZ. RM125s seem to have decent part availability. It’s also in good condition but the guy put 250 graphics on a 125 which is quite funny. This could be a pretty good bike and if I can get a good deal it’s definitely something to consider. But as far as people who rode them? What do you think?
I know I make a lot of threads like this but I look around forums before doing so and don’t find a definite answer. The more knowledge I can get the better.

At your skill level and budget restrictions, just get hold of whatever looks tidy enough and seems to run as it should.
Get out riding, have fun, learn to fix things or change things as you go, not much on a two stroke motocross bike is beyond fixing at home with basic tools and everything you want or need is still available.
Nice one for doing your research but don't worry too much dude.
The Shop
Edit: Actually $43 now.
I can pay the premium, it’s not a big problem. I could honestly save up for a different bike but dying to ride and can’t wait anymore.
