The professional side of it? SX? MX? Weekend warriors at local tracks (that is the sport in my mind)?
I think lower speeds is always better, especially from an injury side of things.
The Shop
I'd say slower, more technical tracks are better for rider health which in turn will help participation at all ages but particularly the junior levels. Less patents will let their kids ride when people are constantly getting carted off the track with severe injuries.
I guess it depends if you want to grow the sport through spectators or competitors
I have a CR500 and I like using top gear.
Some tracks would be fast, some slow.
From my experience a faster track usually turns into a rougher track, bigger breaking bumps, sharper square edge etc.
Pit Row
(Though I've never personally raced, or even rode, a Metisse).
