Does Tomac and Grant’s factory bike use regular Kawi green, or flo green plastic?

I’d kill a hobo for one of those green air boxes.

So my next question is who makes an all green plastic kit? Seems I can find OE colors, or all flo green. But not all OE green.

What year bike? The 2019 comes with a green air box for the KX450 and so does the 250...the 250 has the same air box style as the 18-16 450.

Buy each piece seperately. The “kits” are literally the seperate pieces in their own packages put into a box anyways. btw you cant buy a green air box.

Thanks, I didn’t realize they changed the color on the 19 250. I have a 16 KX450F.

Yeah I guess that’s my best bet. I was just looking on Motosport and eBay.

Yup, want that airbox. I checked on Motosport for the 19 KX250 and it says not yet available. Gonna check with my local dealer this winter about ordering one.

I checked the part numbers last night and they are different for the 250 than the 450, not sure why as Kawi is good about repurposing parts on different models. I also checked the black 2018 250 vs the 450 and the number was different as well, The front part of the box that mounts the air boot is the same though.

I'll ask a Kawi team mechanic I know. In the past they've been interchangeable...but maybe the bolt pattern for the airboot is a little different on them now or something like that.

Michael,

The front peice is the same where the boot attaches, it’s the actual box portion that is off.

18 450: 11011-0851
18 250: 11011-0852
19 250: 11011-0852-290

I assume the 290 distinguishes the green color for the 19.

I figured out what's different, the KX250 airbox is blocked on the right side at the sideplate opening for sound. You can cut that out for the 450.

Fyi anyone that has to pass a sound check don’t do this. It really does make the bike loud. Fast but loud(er)

Depends on the sound check and limits, the stock 450 doesn't have this, only the 250 does. Also, the stock 450 mapping is designed around having that much airflow...the 250 has it's mapping built around it being blocked off.

That’s good news. A quick pass with a dremel tool is easy enough. Hopefully it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg though.

How are people getting the 450 green airboxes though? I was under the assumption that was a factory only part.

If I had an aftermarket option I'd just give you mine. Biggest pain in the ass and world's worst design I swear. Wouldn't fit, but I'd still give it to ya haha

The 2019 250 airbox is green. Take the airbox from a 19 250 and put it in your 16-18 450

You can start going through the dumpster behind the Kawasaki race shop. Never know what you'll find
