For fun, what are you?
MX Racer, trail rider, pro practicer or mechanic/dad?
Poll
The Shop
In the meantime I’ll keep reading vital and watching race highlights.
I selected mechanic in your poll, but I don't push my kids to do crazy shit. Motocross is scary so I prefer them to use their heads, and just enjoy riding.
I do ride the practice track a little bit(less than a week ago as a matter of fact!)
Days too long with way too many classes, few laps, super short one session practice is why I rarely race AMA district.
Outlaw type series where no AMA palms need greased and the promoters promote fun over dollars is where it’s at.
Ain’t a chance in hell you’re going to get me to jump a lot of those jumps and I have seen many a dad/coach/mechanic say shit like “3rd gear, no problem, just do it,” while never having the stones to do it themselves.
We all know those Dads
Why I said it in fun, but there’s a grain of truth....lol

Currently an ADV rider
I'm clearly in the minority as someone that rode a mini bike as a kid and then didn't ride again until I was an adult. At this point my riding consists of a dual-sport as a commuter/trail bike and dusting off the 125s a couple times a year for woods riding and/or local practice tracks.
"Just a fan", for me.
Raced from the time I was 4 and still try to race at least once a year now. Started a family in 2012 and riding slowed big time after having our second kid exactly 5 years ago today. Both kids are showing interest in riding so my focus has gone to their riding. I won't get much faster than what I am at this point and I've been riding for 27 years now. Right now is their time to do it so I will pick back up when they are a bit older.
So basically, in a weird way I'm a bit of the first five options.
I'm also the dad mechanic for my daughter, if she ever wants to race again. She had a bad crash last month and I think she's a little spooked. We'll see.
