I went to see the show for myself...

Pinger and GL run a different sort of show from most other shows or pod-casts. There's more of a "Tonight Show" feel (from the Johnny Carson era) with a motocross vibe and the two hosts bring an interesting mix of personality and humor to the stage.

Tonight's guest, Jeff Emig, was unbelievably honest and forthcoming with the ups and downs of his career and he outright owned all the things that he did...right or wrong...as he told a lot of the little stories that make his career historic & unique.

I'd recommend this show for every race mom and/or dad...every racer that is trying to win races and acheive his or her dreams...and anyone that wants to reminisce on the "golden era" of motocross.

Here's the link I used to find all the show info for tonight's show...

I love the "untold stories" vibe of the show. I can't wait for this episode to hit my podcast app.

It is always archived, usually the Saturday after the live show. I listen through the podcast app on my iPhone.

Just listened to the show, Ping is doing a great job and the last few have been awesome, some great content that you don't hear elsewhere.
I love GL, but I think he's been suppin on too much of grandpa's ole cough medicine during the show. He's an articulate guy, but a couple of bowls of loud mouth soup and he's rambling nonsense. Not flowing like he does on TV etc. Keep GL sober, or get him in for shorter sections and leave ping to the main interviews.

I'm listening to audio but unable to find a video of the Jeff Emig interview, is it not out yet? Seems missing from their YouTube Channel.

Too much emphasis on booze. Guests are great, but I’m done listening until they can produce it without the buzz.

"Emphasis"? man, in over 2 hrs of a show, you're only catching the booze parts?....good lord.

The vibe of the 'crew hanging out, having a conversation about the sport' is what makes it different from the other shows that try to be full on pro. I am finding the whiskey throttle show to be professionally produced/recorded, with emphasis on what we all do these sports for-for fun with the buddies.

I've never been a fan nor a non fan of Fro, but that podcast brought back and reminded me to appreciate the memories I have of him and his era. Dude is as classy as you can get. Thank you for all the memories Frodaddy. I look forward to his next chapter..

Probably already discussed, but the old mx'rs can really relate to the Roger DeCoster issue. First one, I think.

I understand what you mean... First two episodes seemed to still have that "crackin a beer with the guys" feel, which I can totally get down with.... that being said.... The Jeffro episode, while I still definitely enjoyed it a lot, did have much more of the boozehound feel, obvious by the incessant side comments and talking over each other at times. I love GL, dude is a legend on and off the track - but it may behoove the show to keep the hosts to beers only. If the guest want's Jamison, fine by me haha... can only make for a more compelling, from the heart stories.

Overall, LOVE the concept of the long form, live studio audience feel. I'm in it for the long haul

I love the show but since we are offering up our constructive criticisms, here are mine. Definitely dial back the rev limiter on GL’s alcohol consumption and do the same for your producers mic.

Actually the most emphasis by far was on marijuana (so much that Emig had to finally ask them to basically "drop it").

Thanks for the thoughts, guys. And thanks for listening. I'll dilute GL's vodka with some water and see how it goes.

I watched the whole show and was fantastic and felt like some guys just bench racing and telling stories in the garage. Don't change squat regarding that. Considering the guest, the booze and weed talk was just fine. The Man epsisode was tailored as such too... this series/show is really one of the best Moto things in some time.

In this day and age, do you think too much of a big deal got made of Emig’s Havasu incident?

again, not a great interview. Langston should do the interviewing, he has the right questions.

I liked it, I've always been a huge Emig fan, I loved all the stories. I never would have had that 1998 helmet replicated if I knew he hated it so much. I guess it will be awkward if I ever run into him at the practice track and have him autograph it.

Keep up the good work.

Jeffro was a great guest and the honesty was refreshing... was good to hear his feelings on the job loss too. Ralph was funny on there and lastly, the pre-recorded interview with Covington was a good listen, fan of that kid and really hope he stays healthy this season into the outdoors where I expect title contention.

Was really looking forward to giving this podcast a listen, got sidetracked a little and have ended up catching all four in the space of this past week.

Just finished listening to Fro, always been a massive fan, was thoroughly entertained by him and really enjoyed his interview. Fro was my hero when I was teenager, I actually met him once at Matterly Basin for the des Nations in 2006, but I was so star struck I couldn’t actually properly converse with him lol

As touched in earlier posts, and elsewhere on social media Langston needs to calm down and let the guest speak without interruption; he seems so bloody excited to prove his relevance that he can’t wait for a natural break in the guests retort to any particular question without blurting out and rambling before forcing the guest or ping to then speak over him to get things back on course. It’s the only negative to his presence on the show, but it properly shadows his contribution for me.

Bones was great, for a guy that was nervous about doing the interview he gave a great recount of his time in the industry.

RJ too, he was past his best just before I got seriously into MX as a 12 year old in 1990, so I didn’t really watch too much of his racing until a few years ago. His charisma shone through in that interview, major respect to him for going on the show having lost his father that morning.

Really looking forward to the next one and hoping we get interviews with Wardy, Troy Lee, Payton and Ryan Hughes sometime in the future.....

Glad this thread turned out the way it has...so far...& let's be sure to NOT let any would-be internet drama queens produce the show...

Looking forward too it. Just catching up on the Mike Tyson JRE and then this. The two-part Fro podcasts with Matthes were unbelievable too if anyone hasn't listened.
