I was unsure about getting it but when the shop called and said it was in I went to check it out. Started it...then said put it in the damn truck.

Right off the bat you can feel a massive difference in vibration. It's crazy lite to boot. Ok I have to go put my tin foil hat back on. #2strokelivesmatter

Thanks everyone I'm stoked. And yes. I've had a few kawi 250fs then I had the '13 250sx then been riding my old mans 15.5 Fe450 for a year or so waiting for this one to come out. Love the 450 but wanted to see if this bike will live up to the hype. Going riding tomorrow so I can give you a better comparison.

My riding experience started in 2008 on a Yz450f. Rode that for 5 years until it gave up the ghost, then went to a 2013 Yz250. Never riding a 2 stroke, and being a relative amateur still, I was afraid I would have a difficult time adjusting, but it took me a lot shorter time to adjust than I was expecting and overall I like it more than the 450.

The only two things I'll complain about are the lack of low end power. I'm bad at shifting and so I usually end up clutching a lot. And there are times in woods racing that I'd come up to a drop or some random obstacle and on the 450, I could power over things that I just can't do unless I'm in the right gear on the 250. And the second thing is the vibration in the handlebars. My hands went to sleep within the first 10 minutes of hour long races for the first year and it's still not great, but manageable.

I'll probably be on 2 stroke for the rest of my life though. It's lighter, when you ride it in the power, it's more fun, and the maintenance factor is a huge deal for me.

I went from 4-strokes since 04' to a 15' 250sx last summer and i have not stopped smiling yet! Sure there is some things the 450 does better on the track, but the 250 2-stroke has it's advantages too, some on the track and some off the track. . .

It has not affected my race results negatively at all, but that's probably because i tend to race at smaller events with smaller gates. I'm just a slow +30A guy but here is some proof of hoe effective a 250 can be against the 450's. . .

7 guys on the gate this time, everybody else on 450's, came out second

Came out about mid pack on this one, same track but bigger gate with higher level riders. I was not the only smoker on this gate

And then there is the fact that a 4 stroke will never sound like this!!!

Ya, I guess your right. That awesome 2-stroke sound could be view as a pro or a con depending on who you are.

Anyway, op, sorry for the derail, congrats on the sweet new ride! Can't wait to see how your setup progresses!

If you can't get along with the jetting seriously debate a lectron. Completely changes the bike 100%. My bike is so linear I can ride it all day. So much fun

I was so happy with my smoker but made the mistake of ridings a FI 450. Now 250 2 stroke is gone and a 450f sits in my shop. I still can't get over how good the bike is, and only rode it 3 times. Now I can't believe the amount of people I beat on my 2smoker.

I would like to hear about the jackhammers, I mean the forks on the '17. I am biding my time with this '14 YZ250 I picked up. I love it but it's definitely long in the tooth as far as handling. Please give me the straight and narrow on the new forks. Are they great, marginal, the same?

The response is overwhelmingly positive to the AER forks.

After days of rain here in Ohio I finally got a decent ride in on it. All I can say is wow. So nimble. Hands down the litest feeling bike I've rode. Has so much power as usual but it tracs like no other. I have a solid turn track and multiple times this thing would come out of ruts just lifting the front like a lady's skirt. Compared to the 450 it's definitely better for the tighter turning tracks. It's a thing of beauty so glad I made the choice to go back to a two stroke. Forks felt great, but coming from stock 4cs it's doesn't take much lol. Only squawk was the jetting is way off. Pretty rich on the bottom but noting a little tuning can't handle. Overall it has lived up to the hype. Best two stroke created hands down. A very competitive bike.

Congratulations on the new bike. I finally got to ride mine today to. I'm with you, it's a great bike. I been riding a '16 150 with aer forks the last couple months and was hoping the handling and cornering would be similar. The feel is just like the 150. Mine is also really rich on bottom and feels a little lean on main. The lack of vibration is awesome. A lot more fun than my 450

Ok, we all know that this guy is an actor in a movie and his misspelled ink was a running joke in said movie??
"The Millers" was the name of the movie. Look it up, it was a pretty successful main stream movie.
