Just reported on the Unidilla post race Pulp MX show, Cooper Webb was asked to represent Team USA in Assen and declined. Where does this rank with the other riders not going? My guess is nowhere near the hate that Eli and Kawasaki receive, but much more than any non-American rider who is chosing not to participate.

Kind of surprised he would say no... But, it sounds like he might be out anyways with an injury. Another thing that makes it tough to discuss is the details we don't have. Maybe he was asked but he was specifically going to ride a 250... Just so much unknown.

Well since all season he made it sound like he was all for going it is a little disappointing. Saying that, he wouldn't have been my first choice. Also since his injury at Unadilla makes it all a moot point anyhow...

It's just the American way now. Supercross is still too big of a pull on their contracts. I'm sure Webb is very aware that he will be defending his title. How does doing MXoN help with that? They are cold, hard business decisions having nothing to do with national pride.

Good point, ET3 doesn't go and he's a pariah, Cooper choosing not to go and it's a shoulder shrug. Then again, it's Vial, Eli gets a 7th in a moto and the world is falling apart, Kenny get's a 7th and it's crickets........

Funny you should say that. Osborne was going to ride a 250 until Webb said no, and this obviously was when he was 100% healthy.

As much as these guys ride and train already I'm surprised anybody even jumps at the chance to add one more weekend to their schedule. Hell with the "he doesn't want to represent our country" bullshit, you gotta look at it from a work stand point somewhere along the line. These guys make way too much money to be working 52 weeks a year.

Funny, I don't remember this sort of discussion occurring when Tomac turned it down

When it was a given that team USA was going to come home with the trophy it was much easier for the Americans to accept the invite. Now that they get their asses handed to them year after year they realize it is not worth the humiliation when the internet lights up with hate, disappointment, excuses for why they got beat.

On the Pulp Unadilla post-race interview podcast, Osborne said they were going to Europe 3 weeks early to train. I wonder if that was a requirement they had to say yes to. If that's truly the case then wow, kudos to Anderson, Osborne and Cooper for their commitment.

Keep tellin yourself that. You are probably another child that got mad at tomacs 4th last year at red bud,. Now mad they arent going. Pay them more than kawy and they will go on your money. But webb gets a pass nope. No double standards.

I like how the titles phrased to shit on Webb as much as possible... he’s “represented his country” twice before, I believe? And now he’s coming off a 450 SX championship, which I’m sure he would like to win next year as well. He’s put on for his country before, let the dude go out and try to get his championships.

This really isn’t anything new. In 2017 when asked about his opinion on riders turning it down he went on the record and said he probably would have turned it down too if he was asked.

It's always easier to talk shit on someone AFTER you win. I never hear him say those things in the days leading up to a race. Whistling
